Secret Green Club - whatever number thread

A lot happens when you are away … Brandi, sorry about the surgery news, Heather hope you and Brian get thru your medical issues to give thanks in WDW … if not, I might just have to take you myself and wheel you around Disney … Love Porno Pig … Brandi your UNLIMITED Beef and bacon events …yum… had us some BBQ recently at Fette Sau (in Brooklyn - where we won’ travel for some good old BBQ ) … on the menu, brisket, ribs, pulled port, jowls, cheek, everything was delish ….

T: Food & Wine in under a week! Have a great time. Love the Coach Bag win!! Is it yours yet?? :)

2girlsmom: You are probably settled into Florida life by now … hope your DH finds a job soon. Sorry to hear about the house situation in Iowa – really stinks that the bank won’t work with you.

dwheatl : Pre-thanksgiving celebration at DL sound fabulous - extra special with all the family. :)

Hope everyone with kids in school have settled in by now … my DD already had a little meltdown the other day … but is better now. The teachers stated on Back to school night that 8th grade would be more work than 7th grade and they are right.

My sis and I and my Mom are planning a long weekend in Cape May …. got to take advantage of our time together when my Mom can still travel and wants to.

Heather always great talking with you!! Let me know when your calendar opens up ....

Catch you guys later!!

Janet

TGIF! 3 more hours...

TGIF!!!
It so is. Tornado warning across the river until 3:45, so that is almost over. Real dark & rainy outside right now. Again.... Still.... can stop any time now...

Still fighting/working with the school and trying to get all the accomadations in place that are needed. Krista ran the track in PE on Tuesday. You have to lap it 4 times to make a mile, I believe. Not sure of the distance. She didn't stop running the whole time, the only one her teacher/coach said who didn't walk any, and came in third. Now if we can get going in math.... sigh.

Jeff is doing better also. I know I meet with his teachers for him after Chip's surgery next month. More on that in a minute. We are trying to see if a one on one is more benifical or if he is going to be able to keep up and move on on his own. His reading is better, but still very low. He is still having issues missing his dad and fell apart in class, much to his embarrassment. They were going to write an essay with the topic of "if you could go back and talk to someone in the past..." and they mention somone who had passed on. Not great timing, but they didn't know how close to the surface it was for him. Begining of school and Bill did all of that for them in the morning the last few years. And we continue to move on!

Chip is having the last "growing rod" removed from his right lower leg on 10/4. They have tried to wait until it broke as the rod is 1/4 way up the inside of his shin bone, but time is out as it is now twisting the bone as it works it way through it. The younger two want me to be able to be with him, but I am not on the same page that they can stay alone at night yet! Can't fault them for trying, but not happening! They are also worried about what may happen and if Chip will be ok.

I hope all our surgery ones do well in the coming months. With PF, the best you can do is stretch that muscle under your foot by working the muscle behind/above your heel. (Achilles Tendon <sp>)And let me tell you it sucks! Beside feeling like you are stepping on ground glass all the time, the stretching is painful. But if you can do it, the best for you than having surgery! Now the other stuff with the foot, surgery may be the only way.

I do hope all get to go to DW and enjoy themselves. Do something in my name, please! then let me know how I enjoyed it!!

Kristi - Sorry on the house. I know that is hard to have that hit on your credit, but I do hope Rick finds a job in your area soon so that you can live in the same state, let alone house! He does keep having a "poke" war on FB with me, the few times I get on. Figure we "poke" each other about 15 times a session. And I mean with a computer finger!!:scared1:

Danielle - Have a great time with the family in Nov. It is special when they all want to be in the same place as you!

Hi Janet!! Welcome back! And to PD and all others!

Sorry so long. I have been able to read but not post to often. Ya'll have a great weekend!!

And yes, it is still raining!!!

Janet welcome back we missed you :goodvibes

Kat that is awsome about Krista.. 4 times around is usually a mile. That is great that she is able to do that not an easy thing. Poor Jeff and Chip hugs to them and Big hugs to you..

Brandi Welcome home now pull out those boring work clothes from your suitcase and pack the fun food and wine clothes.. Next Sunday

Who was that green haired gal that flew in and out of here :confused3

My friends, I have sad news. Mom passed away this morning at 3:30. She was a huge Disney fan, born the same year as Mickey Mouse, fell in love with Pinocchio as a little girl, took her kids to DL every year (as many of the 6 as she could talk into it), and inspired us to love learning, reading, travel, faith, love of our fellow man including the quirky (hence my association with you all), and when she lost my dad, the love of her life for close to 60 years, she bravely embraced her life and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Our Nov. visit to DL will be bittersweet as we remember the great times with my mom and mourn her loss.

Danielle,
I am so sorry:hug: Hold tight to those memories and hope they offer comfort as you deal with the days ahead.

Your mom will be with you in spirit on your DL trip... perhaps you can find a way to show your love and honor her memory when you are there.

Hugs Danielle to you and your entire family. I am so sorry for your loss
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Just a little background on my Copper - I was looking for a small dog to bring into our house - mostly someone to keep me company when the kids were with their dad, to make me feel a little safe. so i see this add "1 yr old Beagle free to good home, bought for grandkids but parents do not have time" so i told my parents i was just going to see him - LOL and I brought him home.. He had no people skills and certainly no house skills (he lived either outside if the weather was nice or inside in a crate!) took me 8 months to house train the little devil and then even after he still learned a few tricks (like the bread was in the bottom kitchen drawer and if he bumped the lazy susan cupboard he could get all kinds of treats.. some of the other things he did was Bay (howl) in the middle of the night cause he saw his reflection in the window and to hop up on my bed and keep my feet warm. as he got older he got chubbier and had to be on a diet then we discovered he was allergic to chicken corn and beef :scared1: any idea how many dog foods have those ingredients - ALMOST ALL OF THEM - so for the past few years he'd been on a low fat diet of Lamb and Rice 11.99 for a 5 lb bag.. He'd been sick all last week , not eathing vomiting and yucky other stuff. the Vet said he'd been hiding it for some time. His Blood levels were off, he had a low body temp, he had pancreatis and his kidneys were failing :sad1::sad1::sad1: it was horrible to hear but even more so because he's been sick for sometime and we just didn't know. I know we made the right decision but still doesn't make it easier . We were there till the end, he had a good life, I told him he was the best freebie I ever got and was exactly what I needed when I needed it always.. RIP Copper Boy till I see you again..
