Mary and Brandi, Rick will tell you that I read too much too. I don't know that having the Nook has increased it or not, I have pretty much always read 5-7 books per week. But it definitely makes it REALLY easy to get something new, no need to run to the bookstore, etc. ;o)
Heather, my parents both have the Kindle and I think they are pretty close to the same, the kindle has actual keyboard vs the nook's touchscreen area, but the reading screen is about the same size, works the same way. Their books are formatted differently, so can't easily cross over between a Kindle and Nook, it can be done, but would have to download the kindle book to a computer, reformat it to ebook format, then upload it. Needless to say, this limits the book sharing with my mom! I believe Kindle has now gained lend capability and also library access, Brandi can you verify? It did not have that capability when I got mine, only Nook did. The other big plus is that if/when the battery completely dies,
I can go to the BN store and replace the battery, vs having to send the entire kindle to
Amazon and have the case opened, battery replaced, resealed, and sent back. However, I am now proof that not everything is as easy as just go to the store. If you are getting one, I vote for either the Kindle or Nook, not one of the PanDigital or whatevers, they are often cheaper and easy to find, but are backlit screens on all the ones I have seen.
