Secret Green Club - whatever number thread

Ugh! That stinks! I would be tempted to continue to pay off and see what happens, in that situation; if he CAN'T go after the dr, call Disney and see if they would let you reschedule or something. I keep reading about them letting folks do that. And Nov 2013!!! that's terrible! Much too long, there needs to be a girls only trip or something before that. You can always stay with me and we can drive up to WDW or whatever else you might want to see, spend the day at the beach or something, etc.

He has beenn dealing with Plantar fascitis (sp?) since April....also has small heel spurs. It isn't healing like they hoped, so now he "got the boot"

Unfortunately, Easter is out, since that is Chris's 1st Communion. We will be looking at Nov 2013 at the earliest, probably. I had mentioned getting a scooter, but Brian won't do that. What stinks the most, is that there IS a slim chance he will be out of the boot and ok by then, but he doesn't go back to the Doc until Oct 12, and our 45 days is on Oct 5. This is the one time we haven't bought trip insurance too....every other time, we have bought it.:sad2: WAAHHHHH:rotfl2: (He is throwing a temper tantrum in this case) Anybody want to join me for :laundy: tonight???

Kristi, have fun at Sea World this weekend!!!:thumbsup2

I have PF also... and I was hoping that maybe while they are in there doing my other foot surgery they could fix that too....but they don't like the idea.

Sending prayers your way for a fast recovery for both of you.

Heather, I just saw Brian posted on your facebook about his and her scooters, and that he has faith you'll both be recovered in time? So he doesn't SOUND like he wants to cancel the trip just yet. Maybe there is hope yet?? I'm sending along prayers for you!

Yeah...I have to take the vacation and already paid for airfare, so maybe we would still fly down, but not do Dianey. We were thinking about visiting my parents next summer, but maybe we could switch that up and go see them at Thanksgiving, but I guess we will wait till closer to decide.

Well that stinks! I'd much rather have them just do both at once, esp. if it is in the same foot. You would think that one might affect the other.

I just saw that and was coming here to tell you guys to go comment on that to convince him what a GREAT idea that is. As of yesterday, he completely refused to consider a scooter, which is why I was so bummed when he got the news this morning that HE needed a boot too.

OK I just told him that was a great idea!

Thanks! I was dying over his typo......If those scooters can heal, why wait till WDW????:lmao:

If they could heal, I would have one tomorrow. I thought it was funny too, but if i were tease David like that he would never write anything again.

Now i can tease him to his face and doesnt care, go figure. :confused3

Maybe the scooters heal because they are DISNEY scooters. They are extra magical.:wizard:

If that were true I would be on one on Sunday!

I am still trying to figure out if I can get there and not be bummed b/c David is not with me...

part of me would miss my family and feel guilty going alone, another part of me would LOVE to be able to just sit and people watch, take my time in stores, etc. They are all go, go, go when we are there, but I like to slow down and take it all in. Would be nice to go at your own pace for a day.
Morning everyone! :cool1:

Morning! One day closer to Friday....

That is part of my thinking too. Me time.

Since i am not staying on property, where do I park?

I'd just pay for parking and park at whatever park you want to go to. You can park at Downtown Disney for free, but to me the time it would take to get to a park and back on busses wouldn't be worth the $14 or whatever it is saved on parking.'t you?

ETA: Wait....You have an AP, don't you. I thought all AP holders got free parking? Or is it only Florida resident AP holders???

I have an AP but I will have to check to see if i can park.

I was just looking for costs to upgrade to Park Hoppers, and came across this:
A regular Annual Pass is valid for unlimited entries during regular park hours for the four major theme parks. There are no block-out dates. This is a Park Hopper pass. If you are not staying at a Disney Resort it includes free parking at the four major theme parks. Possession of an AP makes you eligible to purchase the Disney Tables in Wonderland Dining Discount Card and to get various other discounts on food, merchandise, lodging, and certain additional ticket purchases.

Looks like you can park for free.:thumbsup2

Now....the fact that Brian wanted to know how much it would be to upgrade to park hoppers has me :yay: cause we seem to have gone from needing to cancel to figuring out the best way to make the most of the trip regardless of our gimpy state.:cool1::grouphug:

Heather, that is too funny! But I am glad that he seems to be firmly on the "take the trip" bandwagon!

Brandi, I don't blame you, but I wouldn't feel guilty for going without him, it isn't like you are taking the trip for vacation without him (not that there is anything wrong with that either), you are there for work, it is just a side trip.

So Rick got a job offer today, but I think he is going to turn it down, because it would cut his pay to just over half what he makes now, and he isn't convinced we can make it at that. I think we can, though it would definitely reduce our entertainment, etc money. But he interviewed this morning for another position so I am okay with him not settling at this point.

I love my AP and my TiW but I think we are not going buy again this year. :sad2:

Glad you guys are looking at making the most of your trip.

Hope he gets the one he interviewed for this morning!

What are you doing with your house in IA? Do you think you will have a hard time selling it, or is the market not as bad there?

I'm just happy he is looking at going!:cool1:
I was actually thinking of cutting a day or 2 out of the tickets and having more resort time...hey, I don't care, as long as I'm there!

I DO think though that if he does have to have surgery, we may have to cancel. I just think that he might still be in LOT of pain if that is the case....we would be looking at that probably happening only a couple weeks before the trip. Too many what-if's there.

For my surgery, the dr said 3 weeks without any weight at all and elevated. So I take that to mean I could not ride a scooter. But not sure what his dr might be doing, I know they are different surgeries.

Yeah...yours sounds much more involved than what he would need, but in the end, you probably never really know till they get in there. I guess our best bet is to wait till closer to our 45 day mark, and see what the doc thinks at that point.
