We are planning trip to WDW in February during President's week break. We have two girls ages 8 and 6 and they have been to WDW 4 times. We know of all the must dos in each park, but I am looking for something that maybe most people don't think about. I have heard about the treasure hunt(?) in adventure land, maybe a play area or a resort activity? Both of my girls love the living with land attraction so we have booked the Behind the Seeds tour - but don't want to add any other extras that will cost money. Thanks in advance!!

How about the Campfire at Fort Wilderness? Or the animation classes at Art of Animation?

Have you tried Sorcerers of the MK? My son snd I love playing. The cards are free and it helps you slow down and just enjoy time in the MK together.

Thanks guys! Is the campfire basically s'mores by the fire or is there something more to it?
I was thinking about the sorcerers of MK, but wasn't sure how it worked?

What about getting the Hidden Mickey book or "The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World: Over 600 Secrets of the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom" and looking for all those types of things? The Hidden Mickey book has a game built in (I think?) if you want to do it that way- earn points for each thing you find.

For Sorcerers of the MK, just stop at the firehouse. They will get you set up with playing cards and explain how to work the game. Basically, though, you have cards (each person who is playing can get one pack per day, after you open at least one portal) and when you show your key card to a portal, it will open and you will see a clue that will either lead you to another portal or allow you to fight an enemy in your quest. You fight the enemies with the powers of the characters on the cards you are given. It is cool because a lot of the portals are in store windows and you would never know that anything is there, until you are looking for it. It is a bit of extra magic that many people don't know exists and will only work if you have the key to play the game. You play the games by land, so you can choose which land to start in (like Fantasyland) and you will cycle through the portals there before it directs you to another land. You have to play the portals in the order it tells you, but you don't have to finish it in any amount of time or even in just one day.

Make an evening of FW, Dine at Trails End, Take a hayride and enjoy the campfire with Chip & Dale. FW also has great trails you can walk or bike and see wildlife. We often rent bikes at the bike barn and take the path between FW & WL at dusk or early in the morning to see the deer. It is so peaceful and relaxing. You can visit the petting zoo and Tri Circle D Ranch (where the wdw horses live).

The campfire program has no admission fee and is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuck Wagon. You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuck Wagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

You can call FW at 407-824-2900 for the movie schedule.
