Second use year

I’m looking at adding another direct contract but considering adding with a different use year in order to maximize value. My April use year has passed to sell the 2024 points back with Magical beginnings.

Should I worry about use year/separate memberships? Or get the most bang for my buck?


We currently own 315 VGF points with April use year.

Depends on your travel patterns and how good you are at balancing points The only being able to transfer once dilemma does make it harder to combine points, but not impossible.

I would do it, but most people here will tell you not to. April is also a hard uy to add on resale so if you ever decide to do that you may end up getting two UYs anyways.

I am glad that both of the use years I chose are common ones for adding resale on. February and December.

You will regret doing it in a 2nd UY.

One use year of points is not worth 30+ years of not being able to use your points together without a transfer.

I’m definitely leaning towards keeping the April use year. Right now, with the annual pass and d23 discounts I can buy 100 points for less pp than 150. If I use magical beginnings the 150 would be cheaper pp.

I’m preferring to buy this time direct to use a combination of low apr credit cards.

April is an awesome uy to have holidays (halloween and thanksgiving and some christmas at the resorts!) , low point May and summer travel, etc. all within your banking deadline!

This would be my ideal uy and since you're buying direct again i think this will work well for you
