Second star to the right and straight on til morning *TR Started*

Sounds like we are going around the same time.
I am a mother of two boys (7 and 4 at travel time). We are also traveling in May and catching the first day of Star Wars weekends. Look forward to following your pre-trip to get some tips as I am planning as well.

I am so with you on 2,4,5,8,10!

And we have joined you in the sick house department. DH is battling the Flu. I think we all need some pixie dust to get everyone well again. Tis the season I suppose. :sad2:

Sorry DH is sick, hopefully he is starting to feel better. Glad you like my Must Do's. Hopefully I can get them done.

Hi and thanks for commenting. Yay for May trips:cool1:! I can't believe I just lucked into this week because it had comparable prices to what I was looking at for August. Mother's Day, Flower and Garden, and SWW all in one week! I assume if you are going the same week?

Yes we are going May 8-17. I couldn't ask for a better Mother's day gift. We have also booked the Star Wars breakfast and dinner. My kids have no idea yet, we plan on telling them on the way out the door.

That's so exciting!! I'm sure they'll love it especially with both SW dining experiences booked:woohoo:.

This is the ay I have been waiting months for. The day that would decide what our final accommodations would be, discount day :cool1:. I usually get online with something in connection to Disney, whether its the Dis or Lines. Today I didn't, I was busy with the boys all morning and so when I got an email at 11 from my TA, I was confused. Discounts, today? I wasn't expecting them out until next week and I though a Disney Visa offer would come out first. I hadn't even told my TA about wanting to switch from my Value/Deluxe split stay to a moderate stay. Needless to say, I was in full on panic mode. Of course, it didn't help that I couldn't even get online to see the potential prices with the discounts. I called my TA and she was already on hold and would get back to me with new prices for POR and CBR. In the meantime, I was still on MDE trying to get prices. When my TA called back POR was sold out except royal rooms. I definitely did not want a royal room because I am really hoping to get a room with a Murphy bed. At least this made my decision easy. We re-booked at CBR and I am really excited to stay here but I would be pretty disappointed if we do not get a refurbed room. The double beds is the reason we are switching from value to moderate so I hope this all works out.

I hope everyone had a good holiday. Ours went perfectly and the boys were very happy with their gifts. DH got the Star Wars movies on Blu Ray and we had a marathon watching the first three episodes. I definitely needed a refreshers before SWW. I think my favorite gift was from my mom and dad. They got me a perfect petals Vera Bradley hipster:hyper:. I can't wait to wear it down in WDW and maybe I can convice DH to get me the matching wallet for my birthday next month ;).

Here is a picture if you don't know what it looks like.

Plans look good!

I think you'll be fine with Sci-Fi. Personally, I like Sci-Fi and have had good experiences there in the past. But despite that fact, we booked H&V this past trip for breakfast. And H&V was a place we swore we would never go back to after our last dinner there. It turned out fine. My theory, is that of all the meals, breakfast is the hardest one to screw up. :thumbsup2

Congratulations on getting CBR. Your trip plans really have changed to get to this point, but I'm glad things are working out for you so far. Hopefully you'll get a refurbed room.

Cute bag! I was also caught by surprise when the discounts came out. I'm glad you were able to book the room you wanted. Happy to hear your family enjoyed the holiday!

I too was caught off guard by the discounts. And man was MDE a PAIN yesterday!!!!! :faint: I was very glad to have a TA.

If you booked a standard room then you have nothing to worry about. Its been reported that only the prefered rooms were left.

Love the bag its very cute!

Thanks for coming by Andy. I am actually getting pretty excited about Sci-Fi now. I know what you mean about H&V, I said the exact same thing and somehow I have TWO reservations there :faint:. Also, I am anxiously awaiting your next TR update :rolleyes1.

Thanks! Dang Disney throwing us spring trippers a curve ball.

LOL, TAs are the best, mine was on the phone all day. I did some digging on the refurbs and was so happy to see only preferred are left, phew.

Well, I just know everyone is going to be so surprised :scared1: to find out that I changed my mind again :rotfl2:. I refigured my budget and realized I could spend an extra $300 dollars somewhere. I considered upgrading my room to a preferred room but without knowing if I will get a refurbed room, I nixed the idea. I decided to look at our flights. We were supposed to fly out at 6am May 10 and fly into Tampa, get a rental and make the hour drive to Orlando. Two reasons this is not ideal 1) getting up at the crack of dawn for the flight 2.) the drive to Tampa. Niether of these things bothered me when it was that or driving 20 hours but its still not ideal. I looked into flights straight to Orlando and it was $300 more. But it honestly wasn't getting me more time at Disney and I still had a 6 am flight so, it wasn't worth it. Out of curiosity, I checked May 9 flights and everything looked perfect. I talked it over with DH and he jumped right on board. So our plans now are:

Drive to Chicago Friday night or Saturday morning (May 9) and hang out with the in-laws. Flight leaves Midway at 4:05 arrives at MCO at 7:30. We will check into All Star Movies for the night.

The flight change was $300 (thank goodness SW doesn't charge change fees) plus the $94 at ASM and it is totally worth if for more Disney time:cheer2:!! Other perks include:

1.) Disney handling all our bags so we don't have to figure out how to get through the airport with 3-4 bags, 3 kids, 2 strollers, & 3 carseats :worship:
2.) Trying out a new resort
3.) no early wake up so boys will be ready for Magic Kingdom!!

I can't even tell you all how excited :hyper: I am to get to spend all of Mother's day at Disney and not have to spend some if it traveling.:cloud9:

Following along! We are doing our first SWW trip and will be there May 29th-June 5th, give or take a day. We have reservations for both Star Wars breakfasts. I think my older one will enjoy the regular characters most and my 4 year old will enjoy the Disney characters most. So, that throws off our dining plan a bit. But I think it will be pretty fun.

Thanks for joining me! I totally get what you mean about throwing off the dining plan. I wasn't planning on the breakfast but I think everyone will enjoy it.

I can't believe how this trip has crept up on me. Our countdown is now at 88 days :cool1:. I have to make FP+ reservations in just four weeks:scared1:. The method I used last time to determine the FPs I wanted was to make a touring plan each day and pick the rides with the three highest predicted wait times. And then try and get FPs for those. This will be my general plan for this trip as well. I loved the touring plans last time and we got so much done with them but, I always felt like we needed to go, go , go. This time around I will make the touring plans but, use them more as an outline for the order we would like to ride and not a strict schedule where I need to be to ride A at 9:07 am. Making touring plans takes time and a little patience so I am giving myself 4 weeks to get everything sorted out. I am going to put a rough outline here so I can keep all my thoughts together for one cohesive day as the touring plans will only cover the parks. I have also decided to add park hoppers. I really think this will help with what I have planned and luckily I was able to move around my ADRs no problem to accommodate.

Okay so here are my plans so far, hopefully I won't try and change them again :rotfl:.

Day 0- Traveling from MI to Chicago
We are going to leave as soon as DH gets off work and make the four hour trip to IL. We were going to stay at my in-laws and have them drive us to the airport the next day. We are doing this is April for our spring break and they did not seem too pleased to help us. Instead of asking them I again I decided to just book a hotel at the airport this night. Parking for a week is included and they will have a shuttle take us to the airport.

Day 1-Disney Day!!
Since we wouldn't be with the in-laws I got us on an earlier flight. We will have the breakfast that comes with the hotel package then pack up and head out. Our flight leaves at 12:20 and should land at 3:55. Right now I have a minivan booked for us. I have not decided if we will split up and one take ME and one take the van or all go together in the van. Taking ME allows Disney to handle the bags but, if we all go in the van we don't have to split up. I probably won't decide until after the two non-Disney trips I have planned have passed. Depending on how difficult it is to navigate the airport with the suitcases, strollers, and car seats, will determine what my final decision is. After, we get check in we will head over to DTD for dinner, hopefully at WGPE and some shopping. I want to get to bed semi-earlier for our first park day.

That is all I have for plans for now. We leave on Friday for a last minute trip to see my Grandma in D.C. I am really nervous about this trip. DH isn't coming but I will have my mom. This will be the babies first trip and my first time flying with all three :faint:. I just look at it as good practice for our WDW trip:thumbsup2.

That's exactly how I plan our park days as well. I always try to prioritize the FP+/higher wait rides to make sure we get them at optimal times, but then just kind of go with the flow on the fast loading rides that don't have long lines.

Yet somehow we still rush around. Want to cram everything we can into our limited time!

Having just traveled with 2 kids and all matters of bags, carseats, etc... I'd let Disney handle the bags! :thumbsup2

I'd never used DME, nor had I considered your plan to be an option, but I think that is a great idea.

Following along! I followed you over from my TR. Our next trip will be in May 2016 so I'm excited to hear about your plans!

Thanks for the information. I spent a lot of time perusing the resorts boards. I still don't know:sad2:. Ugh I guess this is a good problem to have.

Hi! :wave2: Thanks for stopping by. Have you tried the free under three thing. My husband said no until I showed him much better it would be to have two for free. Of course, he still thinks this is a budget trip :rotfl2: I am excited about SWW and the end of F&G should be a good time to visit.
Yes I did try the three free approach and it didn't work. So then I tried for a spring 2015 trip and at last he is not on board. It's hard to change my husbands mind once he has made a decision. So it's December 2015 for our next trip. You must do list is fun. I have had the lapu, lapu at Ohanas it was good.

I know rushing around is kinda a disease. I figured if I pu tit out there that I was going to try and slow down I would be more likely to try and stick to it :rotfl:. The split ME and car is something I though of and have confirmed with my TA that it is allowed. At first I was going to get a car and there wouldn't be enough room for all our luggage and I thought of this but the difference between and full size and a van is so miniscule that I think we might all go in the van.

Yay thanks for joining. Hopefully I can give you some ideas for your next trip. I am loving planning for May, I think it will be a really good time to go.

Oh no sorry. At least your next trip isn't too far :thumbsup2. Thanks, I am looking forward to trying some new things and I like having goals. I think I have definitely decided to go with the Lapu Lapu, yum:drinking1.
