Second seating on pirate night

We are embarking on our first Disney cruise in December. After looking over some past navigators, I have concerns about how we get through our dinner (second seating) and still make it to all of the pirate festivities on deck. I also was unclear about the two different events listed. One was at 9:45 and the other was listed at 10:30.

Thanks

Not sure which ship you're on, but on the Dream & Fantasy there are two pirate shows one between the two dinner seatings around 7:45(more family-friendly with Mickey and gang), and a second show after the second dinner seating at 10:30. This one is a more "Jack Sparrow"-type show followed by the fireworks.

When we had late dinner, we skipped dessert (just got some at the pirate buffet after the fireworks) and that worked fine.

I'm not sure what you're seeing at 9:45.

You will make the fireworks fine. Pirates Night is always a pretty small menu anyways so easier to get out fast. The only thing you miss is the kiddy pirate party going on during your dinner. Besides that you will see the onstage show that leads into the fireworks and then all the after stuff. The 10:30 may be when the buffet opens and the 9:45 is the fireworks and show.

Well that's a bummer for us.

We are doing second seating but want to do the kiddie show, as we'll be there with small kids.

Maybe we'll eat at Cabanas or something.

You have plenty of time to see the family show before heading to dinner. The show is only 20-25 minutes long. And just let your servers know (the night before) that you'll be attending that show before coming into the MDR.

We had no issues with late seating and the pirate shows. We watched both shows. We weren't late to anything and we weren't rushed. It all works out fine. :)

We had late dinner during our first DCL cruise and had no problem seeing the Mickey/Hook pirate show, the Jack Sparrow pirate show, and the fireworks. In fact, it worked out great for us because we were able to get to one of them early and get spots right by the stage because everyone at first dinner was either still eating or at their show (can't remember which.)
