Second contract

The only reason why I would buy direct is if I buy Poly because it isn’t much more per point after the discounts and it’s a much easier process. I think it’s about a 6K difference…of course I was probably putting the math liberally in my favor lol.. but 6K is 6K or more so I don’t know if it’s worth it. There are many resorts available without the new ones and it’s not like I’m 30 years old. Riviera has a much better deal direct but that place doesn’t feel as special as the poly does… no offense to anyone who owns there . It does seem to not have as many kids which to me is a plus lol

I haven't looked at the math lately but I'm quite sure it is more.
If it is just 6k more that is the savings of 6 years of AP's for you and your SO if you plan on doing AP's and then you continue with the savings as long as the discount was offered, the other perks and the ability to stay at all of the resorts.

The average resale is about $166 for 150 points: https://www.fidelityrealestate.com/blog/october-2025-average-dvc-resale-price-per-point/

Direct for a new member with D23 and MB would bring you down to ~205 per point. I'm getting a difference of ~$5,850 on 150 points.

It would decrease if you got current member pricing, Castaway Club, etc.

I’m sure its more too..I’m kidding myself ..you know, I’m not even sure I’m interested in APs.

I’ve added in a 2200. DVC member discount

Do you think it’s worth it to not be locked out of the new resorts? That’s all I would benefit from by owning direct

For us, it is. You just don’t know what will be done. We never thought something could replace BLT as our top resort.

Then they built RIV…and things changed. I look at it this way, you are paying an extra $220 a year over the first 10 years to have the availability to stay at all resorts which means a lot more options especially if they trips booked 7 months or less.

I think it’s worth it.
