Hi. We're wondering if our 5.5 year old would enjoy going to seaworld. We're planning on doing MK, AK, and perhaps seaworld. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think so. We took DD right after the turned 5 and she loved it. We'll be taking DS 5, for his first time in 2 two weeks. I loves animals and other cool stuff, so i'm sure he'll love it.

They have some cool shows and attractions. I know in SD they have a huge playground for the young kids with suspension bridges, etc and I'm pretty sure the have it in ORL too!

When we took our children DS was 5 and DD 20 months. It went completely over the heads of both children and to be honest although we loved Seaworld they spoilt it for us too. The only time on a Florida holiday that my two children have acted like spoilt brats 'Where's Mickey?' hit big time.

We didn't go last year as DD was then 5 but they are begging to go next year on our trip when DD will be turning 11 and DS 7

I think a 5 year old would love Seaworld.

Its a good change of pace from Disney and we like that most of the shows and attractions don't require waiting on a line.

We were able to get 4 free Seaworld tickets using points earned on our Amex and we are going to use them on our next trip - May 2009. We have a 5 year old and a 3 year old, btw :)

My dd loves Seaworld. They have a kids area with rides (Shamu coaster:thumbsup2 ) and the animals are awesome. You can feed and touch some of the animals.

And they have have walk around characters like Shamu and Dolly Dolphin.

I think this would be one of the best parks for young ones. As others have mentioned, there is an entire section just for them. And what 5 year old doesn't love animals?

I went at the beginning of December with my DD 5 and DS 3 - they both LOVED it!!! the kiddie Shamu park with the Shamu coaster - my DD 5 loved it! There were less for my DS 3, but still big area for climbing and playing! Definitely bring some $ to feed the animals - makes it so much fun - mine did some but mostly just loved watching me do it.

I would also highly recommend Dine with Shamu - you literally get 5-10 feet from a killer whale - well worth it! My kids loved it and were just mesmerized by the animals.

It's a great day away from Disney (completely different experience). There is one section that kids can just play. Happy Harbour has rides geared only to that age plus a sandbox, a massive climbing structure, and water squirting area. My kids have gone to Seaworld from 10 months on and enjoy it every time.

The shows are fantastic and very kid friendly. Plus, dolphin feeding time is so much fun. I would have no reservations about taking a 5 year old there. We'll be there in April again with our 11, 7 and 3 year old and I expect them all to have a fantastic time. I hate to say it but I think my kids enjoyed SeaWorld more than Disney (just break my Disney obsessed heart) because the lines were shorter and it was so much more relaxed.

Thank you all for your responses. Bummer, but I just found out that SW is not part of Disney, so we can't use any of the disney park tickets. Well, we'll have to spend more, but either way I'm sure we'll have fun.
