Seaworld to retire "Believe" next year

I have to say, I am glad they are changing it! As someone that loved Believe and it brought me to tears the first time I saw it 4 years ago, it is just not the same, and I felt the cloak of Brancheau's death when we watched the Believe show last March! It is probably one of the best things they could do at this point! I just hope it is up and running before we go in March, I am looking forward to seeing something different!

I just printed up the show times for Dec 12th, the day we're planning on going, and the name has changed to The Shamu Show. Last show times I printed (which were end of Nov - just for reference) it was still called Believe... :confused3

"The Shamu Show" is the special presentation being put on right now because of the new baby.

We were just at Sea World on November 28th.

Before the whale show they had the mama and baby whale come out for about 5 minutes. The baby just swam around and the mama did a few "tricks".

They then left and the real show began. It was incredibly disappointing and I can see why they will retire it. I really wish that we had skipped that and saw a different show in its place. It was really short and lacked any substance at all. Not at all like the Shamu show I remember seeing years and years ago.

I agree we were at sea wold on Nov 26th, and I have to say seeing the baby was cute, but the rest of the show was pretty boring and not much going on. And it was pretty short, I didn't time it, but I know I was suprized it was over soo quick. I loved sea world, and I hope that they can improve this part of it to make it as good as the rest of the shows.

The new show that will replace "Believe" will open sometime in the Spring. Hopefully it is a much better show!

I really hope the new show is better and with interaction again...

I think that EVERY show will be boring for all of us who have experienced the "real" show in Seaworld...

Will have to check if I bother going back if it does not change for good...

:sad2:

when you say they did a 'few tricks' - what do you mean?

thats the whales job to do a few tricks.

Hubby and I were at Seaworld this year when the accident happened and never got to see Believe this year.

We have both decided that yes we will return to Seaworld when we go again in January 2011 as we love it there, but have decided to give Believe a miss as it just wont be the same and we don't want to come away feeling really disappointed.

Looking forward to hearing about their new show :)

Totally agree. We were there 12/2 and I hadn't been since '97 but the show just really lacked impact.
