I am planning on doing a day at Seaworld when we go to orlando in march and was wondering if anyone has gone to see Makahiki Luau, SeaWorld's Polynesian Feast and Celebration? If so was the show worth it? Was the food good? Has anyone done the Dining with Shamu? Is that one any good? I'm trying to decide on a meal for that day.

DD (19) and I have done the Dining with Shamu. :fish:

You are literally inches from the big guy so you have lots of great photo op's and the trainers are interesting and informative.

That being said, the food was a mediocre buffet. :(

We had a good time and I'm glad we did it but I wouldn't do it again... if that makes sense :rotfl:

We've Dined with Shamu twice -- the experience is incredible. However, as other responder said, the food is no great shakes. I know this sounds a little nutty -- but for us, it's a plus that the food isn't that great, because we don't care about letting it sit and get cold when Shamu is nearby! You get the best (up front) seats the earlier you book, so you might want to call (if you decide to go) to find out what seats you'd get. If you're in the back then it is probably not worth it. The tables are arranged in a big crescent along the edge of the pool -- book early, sit next to the pool; book late, get a seat at a table two or three rows "in" from the edge of the pool....
