Hi there,

I am planning to visit SeaWorld when I'm in Orlando in November. I am disabled and use an ECV which will be coming with me to all the parks we visit.

In 2006, we paid the full entrance price for 2 adults at the gates. In 2007, when I arrived, the man charged me only a fraction of what I expected to pay - I think it was maybe half price for me and my companion was free? I can't exactly remember.

My question is, should I book in advance in order to try and save some $$, and order 2 adult tickets, or is it policy to give discounted entry to disabled people? It's not that I expect any discount at all, but I don't want to cost myself money voluntarily!

There will just be me in my ECV and my partner. I can't find any info about this on the website so figured some of you would have the answer! I just want to know how much to budget for the trip, that's all. ;)

Thanks!

It is not common practice for people in ECV's to be charged less at Sea World.

Back in 2004 when we took my MIL she was in a wheel chair and when we went to purchase her ticket we were going to use the AAA discount the girl said she had a bettter rate due ti being disabled, I think then she chrged us $25.00, not sure about now.

When I asked about this for a recent trip they said it depends on the person working the ticket booth. How it is suppose to work is the companion and 1 care giver get half off there tickets because most of the time they cant do all the rides etc so they give the discount. I wouldnt order online because you cant get a discount that way, it has to be at the gate. I assume if they gave you a hard time you could ask for a Manager. I never had an issue with it though.Wishing Disney gave Discounts also, but we still Love to go !

Just to clarify, this is not "official Sea World policy". Policy is Sea World is available to everyone, per Guest Services management (Discounts are not necessary). Sea World does provide access help similar to WDW. All shows can be veiwed from an ECV/wheelchair.

Not sure what you mean by this I was just saying when I called they said they would give us a discount.I didnt say Sea World wouldnt provide them access I was mearly answering what was asked and what I was told when I called. Amd that it would be nice if Disney gave Discounts on there prices also because we could go alot more often :goodvibes

If you were allowed to pay less, wonderful. However, this is not normal Sea World policy as Sea World considers the park to be accessible to all. I posted to clarify Sea World policy, so those that read this do not expect a discount that may not happen.

From what I understand, the ONLY discounts that are given to disabled Guests are to those who are unable to transfer from their own wheelchair due to their disability and thus are unable to experience many of the attractions. Those in ECV's who can get in/out of them are not afforded a discount...per Sea World. I would never expect a discount there just because you are using an ECV. When you call, some people you may speak with may not even know the difference between an ECV and a w/c, but they'll know when you get to the ticket booth.---Kathy
