Seattle or San Francisco?

Roger surprised me after I gave him my job news and said we should take a trip somewhere (other than Disney because we're planning on taking the kids in the spring) right after Thanksgiving. Our two major thoughts right now are Seattle and San Francisco because neither one of us has been to either place and we both have wanted to go to both places (Roger's a San Francisco 49ers fan so that's one reason he wants to go there even though I'm sure we couldn't get tickets.) Have you ever been to either one and which one would you recommend?

I'm partial to SF, since it's near-by. You can get Niner tix for some games - they're up high. You should check with Ticketmaster or the 49ers Website for when they'll be on-sale for the upcoming season. There are lots of things to do in SF (as I am sure there are in Seattle.)

I would say Seattle, but I am biased and I have family that moved there 3 years ago and I haven't been to their house yet and really want to ( most of the rest of the family is out this way, so they always come out here.)

Well I used to live in Seattle and now I live in the Bay Area. Both cities are very comparable. Lots of things to do, theatre, nature, historical, museums. And best of all great food! If I had to choose, I'd pick the one with the best air fare. Seattle will probably have better prices on hotel rooms. Personnaly I don't think you can go wrong either way.

They're both really nice cities. I lived near Seattle at one time (and was there to visit a couple of years ago) and have family in the SF area so have visited there a few times. For me Seattle wins out though because of the view. You can't beat Seeing Mt. Rainier on a clear day.

Given that you're going in November, I'd say SF. Both are going to be cool and rainy that time of year, but SF will probably have the better weather. Now if you were going in the summer, I'd vote for Seattle. Either way, they're both great cities.

Disnee Dad Says..................................As you can see this is a very tough question. Even tougher for me, 17 years near Seattle, 23 near San Francisco!
I say if you can afford niner tixs, skip that and do both!
You can go Alaskan Air or Southwest for no more than $150 roundtrip, usually around $125.
Some thing like 3 days SFO,3 days Seatac, 2 days SFO, because there is more to see around SF. Gotta include Sonoma, the real wine country, and Carmel/ Monterrey.
