We will be going to HDDR in Dec. The Disney Website states that tickets can be picked up from Guest Services 7 days in advance.

Will our seating be based on when I place the reservations or when I pick the tickets up from Guest Services? Does anybody know?

TIA,

Lori

From what other threads have shown, it seems that it is based on when the ressies were made, not when you pick up the tickets.

When we went, we made reservations about 6 months in advance. we picked up the tickets 30 minutes or so before the HDDR. The place was packed and we were in the middle of the ground floor.

I think its when you make reservations. We had awesome seats. We sat alone (not with other families like most do) at a two seater in the front...

We made reservations as soonas we could. About a year ahead of time.

In 2000, I made ressies a year in advance and we had great seats (2nd row from the front). I guess I better get on the phone.

Thanks,

Lori

Please don't take that as a brag I don't mean it to be.Just that it has been our experience it is based on when you make ressy's not pick up your tickets. The sooner we made them the closer to front we were.::yes:: :wave2:

I asked this same question before our trip in February. The end result is BOTH! (I think) First it depends on how many in your party. Let's say it's a party of six. When you first call and want a table for six, one of the available tables of six is then held for your party but you are not assigned to a specific one until you get to WDW and pay for your tickets and pick them up. I had made my reservations only about two weeks in advanced but picked them up upon arrival which was about seven days before the night we were going. We had a table in the second row center. Of course I could be wrong with my conclusion I had just gone by what other DISer's said. I tested it by picking them up ASAP and I think it works that way.

By the way we were a party of four. Tons of tables that size!

I'm not sure how it works.
We made our PS 7 months in advance of our August trip.
A few weeks before our trip, friends of ours decided to take a trip at the same time as us. We convinced them to try and get a PS for HDD for the same date and time as us, which they did.
When we went to the show our tables (table of 6 for us, table of 4 for them) ended up being right next to each other, in the center of the main floor! Neither us had made any prior mention that we wanted to be seated near each other nor had we bother asking because we figured the show would be crowded and seats would be pre-assigned.

I just thought that was very weird. It did make it easier for the entertainers to do their state song for our 2 tables "These folks are all from Illinois..."!!

We made our reservations for last July about 7 months in advance. Table for five, front row, right beside the stage. It was wonderful!!:Pinkbounc The entertainers were so close on the stage that they would talk to us. Best seats we've ever had. We were told the tables are assigned according to when you make the reservation and of course then they are given out by the table that fits your party size.
