Seating for dinner

There are 5 of us sailing and from my experience there are either 4 top or 8 top tables. So my assumption is that we will be placed with another family at a 8 top. Here is my problem: I am travelling with two family members who have OCD (one is more severe than the other). Because of this, their social skills are quite poor (Think Jack Nicholson in As Good as it Gets). So there may be some awkward and uncomfortable situations with another family at the table.
Is there anyone I can contact to try to accomodate a table for just the 5 of us? I wouldn't mind a 4 top with DD at the end of the table- we could squeeze her in.

Any help on who to speak to would be much appreciated (I'm sure the unfortunate family who would be placed with us would appreciate it, too!)

We have learned to live with it, but for people not used to the condition, it can be extremely frustrating.

You can request a separate table for your family or travelling group, not all request's are met, but if you let DCL know in advance they do try to accommodate these types of request's for people with different needs.

Speak to you TA or DCL direct and explain your situation and I'm sure they will be able to arrange a separate table in the dining room's for you and also your servers will be aware of anything to do or not do to make sure you have an amazing cruise!
It's always worth speaking to the head waiter on your first dining visit to remind them or make them aware also as they may forget or the message might not have gotten thru just to help the servers be aware again as they have so many Guest's!

They have 6 tops available. We are a family of 5 and we called and requested a table to ourselves. It is just a request, but we did get our own table. I would suggest calling and explaining your situation, you may most likely get your own table. Also, when you get on board, you can go check your seating assignments right away to see if your request was granted. Good Luck!

DO I DCL direct- the 800 number? Or should I try my TA?

Thanks for the responses!!!

You could speak to your TA and ask them to request it but there is a bigger chance it won't get thru to DCL, so I personally would contact DCL on the 800 number with your Res Number and speak to them directly.

Have a chat with the nice guy's there and I'm sure they will be able to put in a request to accommodate a separate table to make you comfortable and enjoy your meals!
They won't confirm it to you on the phone and you will only find out when your aboard, but given the different needs your family have and as you have already said you don't want to make another family uncomfortable or frustrated, even on the day I'm sure they can sort something out to please everyone! ;):)

We are a family of 5 and didnt make any requests and were seated alone but I would put the request in anyway...

As above, tables are 4, 6, and 8 tops. THey can be placed together to allow for larger groups. Since you have a preference, call your TA and have it added to your ressie. If you tell DCL what you'd like, you will usually get it; if you don't tell them, there's a chance they can read your mind, but....

You can try directly but don't be surprised if DCL has you contact your TA. We are a family of 5 and we were seated at a table for 6 by ourselves.

Have a magical cruise!

We sailed as a family of 5 once and we were sat at a 10 top with another family of 5. This time we are sailing with my father and I am thinking of requesting a table to ourselves.

Thanks everyone! I called DCL directly, explained our situation and got a 6 top table to ourselves!

This will make life much easier for everyone involved.....

We are travelling with family and friends, but are all in different staterooms. So should we be telling somone, so we are all seated together for dinners? This is the first cruise for all of us...:thanks:

If your reservations are linked then you should all be together. BUT call DCL directly to make sure. No matter how many times I cruise, I always call to confirm that our ressies are linked and to confirm our dining time.
