Seating for 1 at the bar at CG?

I have been trying and trying to get an ADR for CG when I am there next week - any time any day and no availability. I was wondering if anyone had been successful getting a seat to eat at the bar by walking up. I am traveling by myself and have done this at the Flying Fish and also at Jiko at very busy times. Do you think it could work at CG? I am yearning for their sushi!

Yes I think it would work!!! All they can say is no. But I bet u will get it.

We found 2 seats at the bar while waiting for our table. We had a drink. However, the man next to me was alone and ordered a full meal. It looked so great and helped me decide what to get!

I did it in December, but it was like pulling teeth. I wasn't at the bar where the bartender is. There's a counter behind the bar facing the MK, so when I wanted to eat or drink anything, I had to get the bartender's attention while trying not to abandon my seat.

There were no bar seats to be had and it wasn't even close to fireworks time. I think I would have fared better if I arrived when the place first opened instead of 7pm.

The problem is that if the bar and lounge are full,they may not even let you up to the restaurant.
We ate at the bar last trip. We hadn't planned on that, but we had an ADR for 8:20, arrived at 8 and were told there was a HOUR lag time for seatings!! That's was BEYOND the secheduled ADR time. Rather than sit and watch the monorail go by for an hour,we asked if we could go up. The hostess said there was no room, but she shrugged her shoulders and said we could go up and "look around". We decided to try that and sure enough, no seats at the bar OR the lounge where we could wait. We had just decided to go back down to the lobby when two people left the bar!! We swooped in on the seats and then I asked the bartender if we could actually EAT at the bar. YES we could and that's what we did. He took back our pager and we had a fine meal at the bar probably at least an hour before we would have been seated at a table.

Long story I know,but it shows the "dynamics" of the california grill.OH--this was a Saturday night and the fireworks were at 9 that evening----

Don't worry...this will absolutly work the Bartenders are happy to have a nice bill at the bar and will take good care of you. Enjoy

I went around opening and spend 2 hours there on Easter Sunday. Until 7pm (when I left) there were a lot of seats open at the bar. Fireworks were at 10pm that evening though.

I do this once in awhile. If you don't care about the fireworks and you get there early you should have no problem. The servers in the lounge are great.
