Hi all stupid question, but since I can't do steps very well how do I get to the seating area at San Angel? When I made the PS I didn't think about the steps, is there a ramp I could go down? I can walk a little way just have a really hard time with steps. I'll be in so much pain I won't want to eat :(

Don't worry. There is a ramp.
I remember eating there with my DH and 2 DDs (one in a wheelchair), although my DDs claim they have never eaten there.
I happen to also own an out of print book about accessiblity at WDW. It says there is a ramp near the entrance to the dining area. As I recall, the ramp is to the far right of the restaurant entrance area and it's not really visible unless you know it is there. Just ask the hostess to direct you to the ramp.
The current Epcot Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities (which you can download from the official Disney site) also lists it as wheelchair accessible.

Thanks Sue! I thought I had seen one but couldn't remember. That's a big load off my mind, I can walk the steps but my knees really thank me when I don't :)

Jane, can I relate to your knees - mine are similar :)! The doctor said I should avoid stairs. I save my stair climbing for special events. I seem to recall a ramp to the Mexican restaurant, too. I noticed it after I started using an ECV at WDW. If you have PS, then you have an upcomingtrip - have fun & enjoy!

Thanks Judith! I'm 72 days away and can't wait it's been a long dreary winter.

This will be my first trip to Disney totally dependent on an ECV. Always before I could do about 1/2 and 1/2. But, I'm stuck this trip in it for the entire trip so I'm trying to figure out if there is any place I can't get :)

If you click here for the DIS page about touring with mobility disabilities , you will find a list of attractions where you can stay in the ecv for the whole attraction. There is also a list of rides where you need to transfer from an ecv to a wheelchair plus rides where you will need to transfer to a ride car.
If you go to the link that I listed in my other post, you can download copies of the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities for each park. They don't give a lot of detail, but are helpful since they indicate which rides have moving walkways for boarding, etc. They don't list the rides with boats that have a long step down - Pirates, Norway, Small World and Mexico. The Mexico ride and Small World have wheelchair boats where a wheelchair can be driven right on, or you could use that boat and walk down a ramp to get on.
Have fun. I'm sure your 72 days will go really fast.

Hi Jane,

When we went to San Angel last summer, the host took us to the left side of the restaurant and down a ramp to a back entrance. Once inside, my girls had a little trouble getting through the aisles because the tables were close together. When you get to the restaurant, you might check to see if you think you will have any trouble driving between the tables; if so, perhaps you could ask the host or hostess if you could be seated near that back entrance and just leave your ECV nearby and walk in.

Enjoy!

Thank you Julie. I'll be able to deal with a ramp and close tables with no problem.

Thank you so much:)

Jane
