Can anyone recommend a good hotel close to Seatac with or without Park and Ride and or a good park and ride?
Thanks in advance.

We're staying at the Ramada Inn & Suites SeaTac Airport for $57. They're apparently 3 minutes from the airport, have a 24 hour shuttle and they charge $8/night to keep your car (they don't charge for any nights you stay there). It looks like a newer hotel and it includes a cont. breakfast.

We're not staying until Dec. 26 but hopefully we won't have any problems!

Just checked it out on tripadvisor and it didn't get very good reviews. Do you know if it was recently renovated? Thought I would give you a heads up too. I heard the Coast Gateway is nice and right now they have a $99 rate that includes one week parking. Plus there is a Staybridge Suites for $69 with one week parking. I will keep looking.
Thanks

I am not sure where you are coming from but we are flying out of Sea Tac and thought of driving down and leaving our car then we looked into the train and a shuttle. For 3 of us on the train is $41 USD and the shuttle is about the same. Just a thought if you are going down from somewhere on the west coast (we are in Vancouver) it might add to the adventure.

Hi,
We are a family of six so the shuttle cost adds up fast! That does sound like a much more relaxing start to your trip and makes for an exciting adventure!
That's the thing about big families! That is why we are flying out of Seattle because of the significant savings when purchasing six tickets!

Thanks for the info
Kath
(P.S. we are Vancouver area also)

Thanks for the info Kath.

The Ramada I was speaking of isn't actually the one that is listed on Trip Advisor, it's a newer one that is still on International Bvld. but not the same address. I am interested, however, in what you've found on the Staybridge Suites. Can you provide more info on it since I wasn't able to find one in the Seattle area.

The train ride to Seattle is lovely, did it a couple of autumns ago. Unfortunately this time around we're driving from Chase (outside Kamloops) where we're spending Christmas to Seattle on the 26th. Promises to be quite the drive. Although we have done it before, never done it in the winter. Keeping our fingers crossed that there isn't a lot of moisture in any way or form keeping us from our goal!

Hi,
Sorry it is Sutton Suites Hotel. If you go through their website it is $69 a week with parking. But they had some comments on Tripadvisor that made them look a little iffy. We just want somewhere safe to leave our car. We have to be at the airport at 4:00am so the sleeping is secondary.
Maybe we should go with a seperate parking garage and hotel.
I am going to investigate some more today. It is the only part of our trip that is not booked yet so I am a little antsy.

Thanks for your help
Kath

I found a website called www.masterparking.com, which is kind of like our park 'n fly. They have daily and weekly parking options. I would use www.priceline.com to book a Seatac area hotel (got one for $27 one time at the Seatac area Doubletree), and then use the master parking...just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. I find with priceline you can only have a maximum of 4 people at most of the hotels. Of course that doesn't help us!
Thanks for the link for masterparking though. I think we might just do the separate booking thing.

Thanks again

please update me when you get back with your parking solution. we just finalized all our travel plans to WDW. booked a flight on AlaskaAir for $314 USD per person flying out of SEATAC and 10 nights at the Port Orleans Riverside from March 25-Apr 4.

we'll probably use the master parking lot at the airport...but if you find something better, please update me. Thanks!!!!

Hi,
I haven't booked yet but think this looks like the best deal for us because we are six so.....Holiday Inn Express Suites at Seatac...good reviews on tripadvisor 1 bedroom suite with up to ten days parking (including your first day - which a lot of the park and fly hotels don't cover so you have to pay an extra fee at check out).
It is a secured parking lot too. Our room will hold six people and the cost is $139.
The cost for a standard room is $129.

There are better deals out there for you if you are travelling with just four people. Sutton Suites was only $69 for the same size suite with 7 days parking but....parking lot was not secure plus we would have been charged for an additional 2 days parking, not to manage some pretty bad reviews on tripadvisor

Coast Gateway was my first choice as the hotel looks quite nice and gets good reviews and they were offering a deal for $99 cdn with 1 week parking but I would have had to book two rooms.

So hope this helps. I am not sure if you were just looking for parking or a hotel too. I will post when I return.

Is that a direct flight? Good price for a direct flight. We are connecting and I wish I had investigated more before buying the tickets. We got such a good deal ($under 1800 cdn for 6 tickets) that I just snapped it up but now I am dreading making our connection in Houston, schlepping carryons and corraling up my four kids.

Yes, our flight is a direct flight from SEATAC to MCO. It flys out at 9:57pm and arrives in Orlando at 6-ish am. This way, we can drive out to SEATAC during the day and not have to do an overnight stay in Seattle. Coming back, we leave Orlando at 7-ish am and arrive in Seattle at around 10am. Then we just drive home to Richmond during the day and again, not have to stay overnight.

I was going to do an overnighter in Seattle, and investigated all kinds of flights and flight times. I was torn between picking cheaper flights for $273 USD on AA that had a stopover in Dallas-Ft Worth. But my DH insisted that I pick the shortest flight which would work well for our youngest DD (who will be 6 when we travel).

Our nonstop flight will take around 5.5 hours each way.

I think you got a GREAT deal for your flights. When you pay for 6 tickets, it all adds up, so I think you did rather well. The Holiday Inn sounds like a good deal too for a room and 10 days of secured parking. Please let us know how it all works out!

Thanks for making me feel better but I sure envy your flight times. Arriving at 6am in Orlando is nice because you have your whole day ahead of you. We don't get in until 4:30pm after a long day of travel, departing from Seattle around 6am. But like you said when dealing with six tickets it is a significant savings.
I will let you know how everything goes.

I just got back two hours ago from Seattle after 14 days at Disney. Stayed at the Red Lion Hotel Seattle South: rate is $89.00 for four persons and includes parking for 14 days. Hotel has free shuttle to and from airport which is just 10minutes away. Had no problems nor issues with parking at the hotel, car was safe, sound and secure. Hotel has security.:earseek: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Great deal on the hotel! What airline did you fly? How was the flight? Hope you had a fantastic holiday!

On the trip Oct 25 to Nov 8, I flew Continental out of Seattle via Houston. The plane was full from Houston to Orlando, but from Seattle there were plenty of empty middle seats. On the return fllight, from Orlando to Houston the plane was overbooked by 75 people, I was bumped to second flight that had every middle seat empty and was really glad for that since the flight from Houston to Seattle was full. The cost of the flight was $440CDN plus I paid for pre and post nights in Seattle costing $166USD. today I booked through Air Canada and got return Jan 31 to Feb 16 for $518CDN, I will have to pay another $120 for parking in Vancouver but the four hour drive back and forth to Seattle is too long and too busy.
As for the holiday, it was great. Almost no crowds except for last weekend, even the so-called Jersey week was not really crowded, rarely did we have to wait more than ten minutes to get on any ride. On the past weekend the crowds were huge, most rides had 40 minute waits.
Saw the new Stitch encounter: want Alien Encounter back. Stitch spends too much time in the dark with nothing to see, just sounds in the background. But kids should like it.

Thanks for the info cdntourguide! I had a look at the Red Lion, it looked like a great deal since we're parking for 18 nights and booked thru them this afternoon. They'll even do a "reverse" park & fly for my sister who doesn't need to spend the night on the way there but on the way back, and they'll park her for 14 days with the $89 rate.

How were the rooms, roomy enough? Far from Southcentre Mall? We're hoping to go to the Olive Garden there before we crash for the night.

the room at the Red Lion was a fair size: about the same as a room at any of the All Star Resorts. small bathroom, though.
The southcentre mall is just about 5minute drive away: maybe 3km.
glad you got a good rate.
Have a great and magical trip.

I have booked some cheesey motel called the Skyway Inn at Seatac for 49.99 for the night and includes up to 14 days parking! Reviews are iffy on the rooms, but we have to leave at 4am anyway, so doesn't matter to me!
