seat assignment 24/h ahead of time

Bought coach tickets through Airtran for 4 people for our upcoming trip. It says that I can select our seats 24/h ahead of time which is what I want to do. But my question is...I have luggage to check and I was wondering if I can still pick our seat assignment. Last year when we flew Airtran our flight was early and we upgraded to business class both ways, but there were just the 2 of us and now there are 4. We are taking an afternoon flight from Dayton Ohio so if we can pick seats that would be great!

To the best of my knowledge, yes you can still get your seat assignments in advance. You just need to go to the counter to check your luggage. As far as the upgrade, I know that at some airports (might be all) you can stop at the Airtran kiosk and upgrade to Biz class.
