My husband would never, never surprise me with a trip. Horray for you!!!
I used to think that too!
This is actually our third "attempt" at an "adults only" trip to WDW!
The first attempt was supposed to be in December of 2001, we were going to stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I had booked the trip at the end of August 2001. Then September 11th happened, but I did NOT cancel our trip! I felt that security would be fine to fly. However, in November 2001 a plane crashed in New York, due to MECHANICAL failure, and that just freaked me out. DH said it was up to me whether we go or not and I just couldn't bring myself to get on that plane. Of course by the time December 2001 rolled around (just a month later) I was over my nervousness and was wishing I hadn't cancelled the trip! LOL
The second attempt at an adults only trip was supposed to be just last month. In June (2005), DH and I were supposed to go on a
Royal Caribbean cruise with 2 of my brothers and their wives. The only date that was good for all of us was the middle of June. Well my DSs ended up with 7 snow days last winter and that put their last day of school at June 24th (the cruise was June 17th). After much thought, we decided we didn't want DSs to miss an entire 7 days of school, especially DS17 who is in high school, so we cancelled the cruise and decided to turn our July (2005) "Disney Anniversary Trip for Just DH and I" into a big family vacation

We had a wonderful time, split our stay between the Wilderness Lodge concierge and Polynesian concierge, but still, it wasn't an adults only trip!
So just a few days ago, after a lot of kidding around by me about just us two going back in the fall, DH surprised, or should I say SHOCKED me by asking if it'd be ok to do a value trip this time! We are already booked for another
Disney cruise next summer (2 cabins, so DSs can have their own!) and have DS17's high school graduation, graduation party, college, etc, coming up, so I told DH that a value trip made a lot of sense and would give me the chance to check out a new resort, Pop Century

I was, and still am, just thrilled to be going back to Disney World so soon!
So now I am excited and looking forward to finally going to Disney World with just DH, and also trying out a new resort level (I fully expect to enjoy our stay there!), and we'll also be giving Magical Express a chance.
*whew* Long story, huh?
