I went to check pricing for a trip in January/February 09' but you can't get online pricing yet from Disney for their hotels after 12-31-08. Does anyone know historically what the season would be considered in Jan/Feb (a few weeks after New Year's). We are trying to plan a quick trip then for a friend's b-day (really that's just an excuse for us to go again)

Hi! I am planning a jan trip also; the weekend after new years till mid feb is value season. Hope that helps!

That did help. I knew it was the value season last year, but wasn't sure about this year. Thanks.

Do the seasons change from year to year? For instance, 2008 peak season ends on March 29, regular season begins March 30. Is that likely to also be the case in 2009?

I think the dates for seasons can change slightly. I'm checking in on Jan. 1 and past charts say Jan. 1 starts value season. When I called to book, the CM told me they were not sure if that would be the case for Jan. 09. He said the beginning of value season might be a few days later, and wouldn't know until the 09 rates come out. It was enough to make me book a moderate instead of a deluxe. :earsboy:

We were there from Jan 1-Jan 6 of this year and the seasonal pricing for dining was in effect up through our checkout day, Sunday the 6th. Since we had some buffets and restaurants affected by seasonal pricing we did the DDP to avoid the surcharges. We were in value season too.

The dates can changed because some of the seasons are based on holiday weekends and such. I think for the most part they remain the same, but if you're looking for an exact date, I think you have to wait until the rates are released. Which will hopefully be within the next few weeks.
