Hi everybody. I did the CS program last spring (Feb. thru August) and now I am considered seasonal. I worked a few hours after my program was over, but I have not been back since I came home to Houston, Tx in August. I want to go and work this summer but I am not sure how to go about arranging for housing and transportation since I will no longer be able to stay at the Disney CP housing.:confused3 How have other seasonal employees done this? Is there a place (here on the dis boards or elsewhere) where past CPer's can go to hook up with other CPer's who might be interested in sharing a hotel room in order to work seasonally this summer? Also is it possible to work more than the 120 hours? I would really like to stay the entire summer if I could find somebody to split expenses with. Thanks for your help in advance.

There's another post on here with someone looking for somewhere to live if he/she got hired seasonally. Maybe you could contact them?

I am seasonal in Attractions so it's a little different. I have to work 40 hrs every 6 months (to stay certified), and my mom will usually go on a trip with me and will cover the cost of the hotel room. She vacations while I work (lol).

You get 50% off the hotel room, so usually I just stay in a value resort while I'm working.

Thanks for the input. However I am a little confused now. Do you have to work every 6 months to keep your seasonal status? I thought it was on a yearly basis. Is it too late for me now since I haven't worked since August? I was in quick food service in the magic kingdom. Does anybody know?:scared1:

The six month rule only applies to Cast Members statused to Attraction Operations. They need to work every six months in order to maintain their proficiencies. Otherwise, they are subject to retraining when they come back to work.

Oh good. That's a relief. I thought I had missed my chance. Do you know if it is possibsle to work seasonal all summer? I was told that there is a 120 hour limit. Can you confirm this? Thanks

There's no limit to how much you can work as a seasonal cast member. I was there last summer for about 6 weeks and worked over 120 hours. During October through March, a large influx of snowbirds always come back to work seasonally, so there is definitely no cap on the amount you can work. However, you typically won't be scheduled more than 30 hours, you would have to pick up a lot of extra shifts on the Hub if you want to work more than that, or make sure that your availability is wide open for the time you plan on being there.

Actually, there is.

Per the Full Time Collective Bargaining Agreement in place between the Service Trades Council Union and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US, Inc., Florida-Site Casual Regular (Part Time) and Casual Temporary (Seasonal) Cast Members in STCU Roles may not work more than 25 hours per week for a period of longer than six months.

They can work for more than six months at 25 hours or less per week, or less than 6 months per year, but not both.

CR and CT Cast Members who break this limit will be restricted from any further work.

If you're just coming for the summer, there shouldn't be an issue. However, if you're staying for longer, you need to take this into consideration.

Thanks for all the replies. A thought occurred to me that maybe somebody who is coming off the program between now and June might be interested in sharing the cost of a room. My program ended in August last year, but are any of the programs ending sometime in the near future?
