Most years, allergies really don't bother me....all I need is a sutafed in the morning and I am good for the rest of the day. ::yes:: This year, I am in total misery!! :earseek: Eyes running, nose either runny or totally stuffed, sneezing up a storm.............I hate this!!! :earseek: Anyone else notice an increase in allergy symptoms this year? Don't know if this means anything, but our tree in the backyard has the seeds that come down in what we have called "helicopters" for years. This year, we must have 3 times as many of these things!

Mine have also been worse this year. This past week I've been so stuffy from it. Monday I couldn't even talk.

DD 17 suffers quite a bit in spring and early summer....this year seems worst than last...actually each year has gotten worse for her the last few, unfortunately.

I usually don't have a problem, except some sneezing and or occasional minor headache when the pollen count is high. But for the last couple of weeks I have had really bad bouts of itchy, red, irritated eyes!!

Yuck. Tissue anyone??

DS 16 suffers from allergies this time of year. Luckily, he has a wonderful allergist who's always up on the newest treatments and it's gotten 100% better.

Our local news station does a pollen and allergin count each morning--in our area of the country, we've had some 10.5 out of 11 days--so it's BAD.

I never dealt w/ seasonal allergies before this year...in Tallahassee, they were awful. Now that I've moved to S FL, they are gone, hopefully to never return again!

This allergy season is absolutely horrible! I have had headaches almost every day along with congestion and a hoarse voice. DS had alot of headaches until I got him his allegra for the season. Now he is just fine. I hope it calms down soon so everyone can feel better!

ZYRTEC!

I wish it still worked for me. Most of the allergy meds don't work very long for me. Shots didn't even work because I had so much problems from them.

My youngest DD (9) has always suffered from seasonal allergies. :( She has been on Claratin, Zyrtec, Flonase, Patanol....nothing really gave her much relief. One day, in first grade, the school nurse actually called me and told me to come and pick her up. They were cutting the grass in all the courtyards (next to her class room window) and she her eyes were so red, it looked like she had pink eye! :earseek: Last year, her prescription had run out shortly before her check up (she needed a new prescription). I had Benedryl on hand and figured I would give it a shot. It offered her more relief than any prescription she had been on! :hyper: I told her doctor and she told me that Bendryl is one of THE best allergy medicines out there IF your child can tolerate it. It doesn't make her groggy, doesn't wire her up...nothing at all! :D If I even take the dose I give her, I'm down for the count!! This year, I have had to give her one in the morning and one at night it has been so bad here.

Allergies............then BUGS! Oh, it is so NOT going to be a fun summer!!

Another joy of the allergy season - I woke up with a bloody nose this morning.

We have suffered this year more than most also. Ds has missed 2 days of school and he never misses school. We have tried every persciption and they work for a while, but not for long. This time the DR. gave him Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray and it has worked better than most things he has taken. I am congested this morning and need to go out and work in the yard, but I hate to because I know what my head will feel like!

THey have been really bad down here this year...I have DD currently on three different types of meds right now b/c they are so bad for her.

I am right there with you this season. I have been popping 12 hour pills every 4 hours they just wear off to easily and it doens't matter what brand I use. I have even used the 24 hour stuff and it only lasts till about dinner time then stops working.

No matter what I use, nothing works for me. My eyes will all of a sudden get SOOO swollen that I have to immediately pull of the road before they swell shut. I just wish something would work. But I'm so miserable all of the time. My DH says if I would be outside more then I wouldn't have allergies anymore. He thinks I'm just a big baby about it. He doesn't understand. It feels like you're rubbing soap in your eyes. Gosh, I'm ALWAYS SOOOO MISERABLE!!!!

They are a lot worse in Indiana than Massachusetts so I got nailed in April with allergies and only had one month of meds so I recently ran out and it is hell!

My oldest has been on claritin and sometimes along with nasonex since December. The doctor put her on them when she had the very bad ear infection that wouldn't go away, it was also affecting her sinuses. It turns out now that when she quits taking the claritin , she gets all stuffed up , so the doctor said to keep giving it to her. Now my youngest has some weird allergy spells, she hacks every two seconds when she gets those, and nobody knows what is causing that , they tested her for every possible allergy and everything came back negative. They both break up in rashes often out of the clear blue sky , they have been diagnosed as exzema both ( unfortunately they inherited my skin ) and when we travel, we have to travel with the medecine cabinet.
But this year even my DH has been diagnosed with allergies. YUCK.
