Season designation and crowds?

We've only been members for 1 year and I'm confused as to how Disney decides how to categorize their seasons. I noticed some big differences between 2013 and 2014. I'm hoping some of you could proved some insight for me.

1) Does DVC have a different season than typical crowd levels for the parks? Meaning, with the exception of the holidays weeks, how do they decide the other weeks?

2) I've always heard the fall is a busy time for DVC members, but the crowds don't seem so bad. Why isn't October considered magic season?

3) in regards to June at VGC, that's a choice season, but I hear the crowds are horrible in Jun, is that correct?

4) what are the chances of getting a 1 bedroom, mid week for June at VGC at the 7 month window?

Thanks. :)

Disney park crowds and DVC busy times are two different things. For example: Early December is a less crowded park time, but VERY busy for DVC because of the low point costs.

By the same token, summer is a less busy DVC time. Holidays are always going to be a big draw both in the parks and at DVC, so points are high during those times.

As dianeschlicht pointed out, points required per night don't always directly correlate to park crowds. June at the DLR is in fact quite busy, but that's mainly due to locals who are enjoying summer break with day trips to the parks. They don't clamor over themselves to stay in a Disney timeshare to do it.
