Not sure if I am posting this in the right spot but, I am wondering
if anyone knows of any specials for pictures right now?

Not great ones that's for sure. last week we paid $6.99 per sheet with one free 8x10. I think if you go to their website you can print that one. If not I'd be glad to email you a pdf of the coupon.

Thank You :earseek:
All of my coupons for 4.99 Portrait sheets have expired. :guilty:

How good is sears and there packages? i usually use the picture people and get memberships every year. I am thinking of using sears though. Any thoughts on the 2?

I know that this is going to sound crazy, but we just used Wal-Mart -- Yes, Wal-Mart! And are thrilled with the quality!!!

Have used the Picture People many times and Sears years ago, and have been happy with them. I was cautiously optimistic when someone else mentioned that Wal-Mart portrait studio (located right in the store) was offering no-sitting fee packages for something like $6.90 and it included a huge number of photos (even more than Sears and paying by the sheet at Picture People is $$$).

Will DEFINITELY go back again. Only hope they don't raise their prices once they knock out the competition. :flower:

Walmart has always had a cheap price. I used them in 1997 when it was $3.95 for the first picture package and my total came to well over $100 and was not happy with my pictures so I am going to tey sears now.

We LOVE our local Sears studio! We joined Picture People when ds was born and haven't even used the coupons they sent us. It is soooooo hard to get an appt at ours and they are much more $$$$ than Sears. We go to Sears MUCH more often .. really good pkg deals and our local staff is GREAT! They are willing to try everything we ask. I had seen a picture somewhere else and my Sears tried it and infact went out to buy the props I brought along just to keep on hand. We did the new "Portrait Study" Sears offers when ds was 6 months old last month. I was literally in tears when I picked it up, they did such a GREAT job with it! As long as you know how to say "no" to all the extra effects and "deals" they offer and stick to your coupon inclusions we always come out ahead!

PolyHereWeCome, we also had really good pictures from Wal-mart!

I've used Sears and Penny's and the pictures from Wal-mart have been just as good for me. I've gotten several packages this season for $6.88. You need to tell them up front you want the $6.88 package. That means the first picture you accept is the package you will purchase.

During that session they will take 6 additional poses. I was told during the Christmas season they will send the "samplers" with all of the packages. The samplers include two pictures of each of the 6 poses (3 x5 I think). You can purchase the sampler for an additional $14.

That's a ton of pictures for a little over $20! And I was happy with them all!
I may use Sears or Penny's once in a blue moon now, if at all. I'm happy with Wal-mart!

Edited to add- If you register your child for his/her birthday with the Wal-mart studio, you will get a birthday coupon for a package for $3.88 and a free 8 x 10! What a deal!

We love love love our Sears studio! :D We have been extrememly pleased with all our pictures there, and find the staff very accomodating! We always request the same photographer now as she's been taking my kids since they were born (they are 5 and 3) We had lugged in many props of our own and always been worked with in that regard. IE...my mom made each baby a handstitched blanket when they were born...we took this in for a two year old picture to use as the background clamping it to the regular stand with clothespins. It turned out sooo cute and my mom was thrilled.

As mentioned above...the coupons are great....just hold firm on not adding on extras and the prices are great. To use the package coupon no longer requires that you use the "first approved" shot, so you can pick your favorite of the six poses taken.

Although I would definately go to Walmart if Sears were not reasonable with coupon prices, I have used them in the past and was not pleased. I was in Walmart shopping and saw a "No wait" sign around the time my son was turning three. I thought, well, he's dressed cute and just had a haircut, and then no trip to another store, why not. I requested that his shoes not show since he had on his scuffed up tennis shoes, and was assured that the way the picture showed on the screen would be exactly what showed. My printout showed the shot on the screen--photo cut off near his knees but no, package comes back with shoes showing, plus was WAY off-center. I asked why they were SOOO different than the picture in my printout and was told they can't guarantee how much of the photo will show! What??? And why is it so off-center??? Oh, that happens sometimes. So, I returned them and went to Sears where we ended up with really cute shots.

I'm sure each Walmart experience is different based on the employee, but I was much happier with the photographer/child interaction as well as the photo quality at Sears.

Our Wal-Mart package included some ridiculous number of pictures -- an 11x14, 2-8x10's, a ton of 5x7's, 4x6's, 3x5s and, even tiny wallets. Something lot 100 pictures (sorry, I threw away the package details, but it is really so many pictures that I cannot imagine anyone buying anything additional).

I used them in 1997 when it was $3.95 for the first picture package and my total came to well over $100 and was not happy
.

Oh, my, goodness!! Wal-Mart was very patient about getting just the right pose, and then that's the one we chose for our package. They do take other pictures -- just like Sears and Picture People -- but unlike the Picture People, there was no hard sell. And no coupon necessary! Think because they do give you soooo many pictures, they don't expect you'll buy them.

Like Sears and Picture People, walk-ins are allowed but I always made an appointment before and did this time, too. With 2 kids, why take the chance??

As I said earlier, I know it sounds crazy that Wal-Mart would be good. But, they were actually GREAT! Sorry others didn't have as much success. :flower1:

Lizzydoll73...Thanks for posting that link!!! I have been meaning to get DS and DD to get their pictures taken for quite a few years, but haven't really been motivated. This year MIL said that she and FIL don't want anything for Christmas except new pictures of the kids. With the coupons on Sears website for pictures is way to much! I can handle the $4.99 per sheet w/ no session fee over $6.99 and $9.99 for the session fee {I think that's how much it was}.

Anyone have any experinces with going to Sears and having pictures done the week before Christmas? I figured that would be a good time since it would seem everyone has been there way before wanting the pictures for Christmas cards. DD isn't very patient and I hate to make appointments not knowing how DD is going to be around that time.

Thanks again!!!

We've learned the hard way that it's not the studio you go to but the photographer. We found a wonderful photographer and he's shot my daughter from the time she was 2 years old until she was 6. He became her pal. Well, Penny's closed here in Hawaii and our "beloved Robert" lost a job. For the last 2 years my friends and I have gone to Sears because that's the closest to Penny's and have tried to use many of the photographers. This year we have really realized that it wasn't the studio but rather the great pictures that Robert took. If any locals know where Robert has gone can you PM me. Robert we miss you!!!! If you find a good photographer get their name and go to them regularly. You and your children will be happy you did.
