I need advice, reviews, comments, anything on this restaurant would be helpful. Coming down in July, my prince and I, for my 30-something birthday. Thanking you in advance for any help

This restaurant has been voted by many in the dining community as one of the best restaurants in the country not just Disney but the whole USA. If you want to have a very upscale and unique restaurant experience then this is the place. I have been lucky to have eaten here twice and yes it was one of the most expensive dinners I have ever had ,but it was one I have not forgotten.

I wish it was in our budget to eat there on every trip since this is our favorite in all of WDW. For us, it's a wonderful night without the kids...something just for the adults...which is rare in WDW. You can't beat the food or the atmosphere, they are the best. Relax, and enjoy this wonderful experience! ::MinnieMo

Hands down, the best meal I have ever eaten. The service was exquisite and the food was heavenly. DH and I went here for our 10th anniversary and I will never forget it. It's expensive but worth every penny. Definitely a meal I will never forget. Be sure to get the wine pairing and order the souffle for dessert. Enjoy! :cloud9:

It's a meal you won't forget! It's very fine dining. I am a wine drinker but didn't like the wine pairing as some were not to my tastes. Especially the dessert wine, yuck! Not being a pickey eater, however, I don't like seafood, the chef made a special appetizer for me as they were all seafood selections. I'd highly recommend it!

It is only one of 46 restaurants in the whole country rated five Diamonds by AAA. The ambiance, service and food are all wonderful. Expect to stay about 2½ hours. If you enjoy wines, take the wine pairings. Also the coffee service and there is a real problem in chooosing the best dessert. Generally you only get two or theree selections for each course, so don't get the same and share.

You may also want to check when you call for your reservation to see if the Chef's Table is available.

They sit you at a dining room table in the kitchen. What an experience that is. If not, the whole ambience of the restaurant and harp player is very romantic.

AWESOME! We have eaten there several times and it's a lovely restaurant! the interior is Darkly lit and Romantic...they give a rose to the women in the group upon entering. The food is tasty and I just love everything about it.
if you choose to do this, please ENJOY! Helen

the wife and I had dinner for our 10th anniversary(last week actually- 4/20). Expensive but worth every penny. Paid extra for the Kobe beef and I'm still talking about it. Service was amazing and you need to order the coffee for the fancy presentation. Have fun

DBF also had the Kobe beef and continues to talk about it to this day (we were there over 6 months ago!). He keeps saying "I hope they still have the Kobe beef when we go back!" V+A's was by far the most exquisite, intimate, romantic, delicious dining experience I have ever had! I consider myself quite the foodie and have eaten all over the world. It's amazing. GO! ENJOY!!!

I have yet to experience V&A's and am very interested in what you have to say. You have compared it to some of the best restaurants you have ever eaten at. I was wondering what establiments you are comparing it to, so I can have a better indicator as to what I should expect. I assume you have eaten at some of NYC's3 and 4 star restaurants. Would you care to elaborate please? thank you in advance.

I'm actually going on a solo trip from 9/30-10/9. I called up at 8pm in the evening and asked if they had the chefs table available for one of those days. Much to my surprise, it was available! So I instantly snatched it up and can't wait to experience it. The food looks great, and from what I've read, the service is wonderful as well.

Hey WillyDogs...Congratulations! and to think that I got up at 4:00 A.M to call and get reservations! I've never heard of anyone getting one so late before! You must have SOME luck. :cool1: Helen :

We've been down at Disney and just took a chance and called to see if the Chef's Table was available and we got it for that night!. Don't hesitate to check it out in case someone cancels.

By the way, V & A is Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian.

I noticed that you are from Metro NYC where I will be in 2 weeks. I was wondering if you could recommend some of your favorite restaurants in NYC that are almost as good as Victoria and Albert's? Looking for some new choices in town for this trip.

V&A was by far the best restaurant we ate at when we were there last year (we actually got engaged there....yay!!! :yay: ). Allow 2-3 hours for dinner. There are many courses (7 or 8, i can't remember?), but they are all small enough that you won't be stuffed before dessert arrives.

You order your entire meal at once. I like this because it allowed us to order a wide variety. We could order a cold duck appetizer followed by a warm seafood appetizer and a beef entree. :cloud9:

I also liked the tip listed in another post above about you and your prince ordering different things and then sharing. We did this and it was great!

Definitely order coffee, just for the experience.

I'm sure you'll have a great birthday! Enjoy!!

Has anyone been on the platinum plan, since a a dinner here is included in the package? If so what was the platinum plan menu like?

Majortom,

I live in NYC. Here are some of our favorites:

Jean Georges (just award 4 stars by NY Times)
Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's southwestern)
Bolo (Bobby Flay spanish cuisine)
Veritas (famous and remarkable wine list)
11 Park Madison
Le Bernardin (seafood)
CraftBar (casual version of Craft)
Blue Water Grill
Gramercy Tavern (casual tavern area, pricey pris fixe dinner in the dining room)
Union Square Cafe
Artisanal (amazing cheese, noisy bistro atmosphere)
Anissa (downtown, quiet, romantic)

I've given you a range of places we like from very expensive to not quite so pricey. Also, some may require a jacket, but to my knowledge most don't. I hope you have a wonderful time in our great city!
