Search Tags

What is the search tags for? I just seen it this morning on every thread I open. Has it been there all this time and I never seen it. Also what does it do?

I think it's a new search function. It will find the tags that are put on the post instead for searching for the exact post.

I don't get it either, but it was an explanation, LOL. I didn't say it was a good explanation. I feel better though knowing somebody else read it and also doesn't understand.

It works--today when I started a tag about "If you could change your username, what would it be?", I tagged that thread with the word "username". If anyone searches for "username" as a tag (ie, key word), that thread will come up. I just tried searching and it did work. It's like putting a Post-it Note on any key words in the thread.

Here's what Webmaster Alex replied on the tech thread I started:

basically it's a way of more targeted searching. If someone tags their thread about their stay at the grand floridian "Crand floridian, resorts, monorail resorts" their post will show up if someone searchs tags for any of those words.

The regular search brings up EVERY mention of those words
