Coming to WDW from so Cal for our first ever visit in July. After lot's of looking at websites and WDW reference, I've seen these small, two-person speedboat looking things called "SeaRacers" that can be rented. Where is the best place to rent them (I'll be at Pop Century) and are they worth it? I'll be with my wife, 18 YO daughter and 15 YO son. Thought these would be great for something different to do. Are they?

Thanks!

For Bay Lake/Seven Seas Lagoon (best place to use one) rent at the Polynesian, the Contemporary or the Wilderness Lodge.

Are this the same as the two seater Mouse Racers? If they are, I rented one at the Beach Club. My DD11 and I had a lot of fun with it. :boat:

The best place to use the Sea Racers (formerly Water Mice) is on Seven Seas Lagoon/Bay Lake. You can rent the boats at the GF, CR, Poly, WL or Campground. 30 minutes is plenty of time to navigate once around Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon, going past all of the resorts and the MK. They are a blast. They go for about $25 a half hour, $30 for 45 minutes, and $33 or so for an hour. If you have an annual pass you get 15% off. With my AP discount I paid $21 for a half hour and thought it was very much worth it. When we rented from the WL they timed us out at 3:20 when it was only 3:10 - gave us an extra ten minutes. That was nice.

You can also rent the boats at the YC/BC marina, but there aren't as many places to go so unless you are staying at one of those resorts I'd head over to the MK area.

Even when I stay at the Beach Club, I still go over to the MK area for my Water Sprite fix. (They were called Water Sprites years ago, and that's still the term that sticks in my mind.) Crescent Lake is just too small to get up much speed and have any real fun with these boats. And the waterway in the Port Orleans area, even less so.

The price is a bit lower at the BC/YC marina, in part because the boats are less powerful than they are at the MK resorts.

My suggestion is to visit one of the MK resorts for a nice meal, or just to explore these really wonderful resorts, and stop by the marina while you're there.

Your kids are great ages to rent these, although I do believe the newest rule is you have to have a drivers license to be in a boat by yourself. By chance will your 15 yr. old be 16 by then and have a license? If there are two adult size people in the boat together it can slow them down somewhat.

We always rent them and have a blast! We stay out an hour and sometimes we go back and do it a 2nd time (another day)!
