Sean Goldman - UPDATE: "He called me Dad..."

I never heard where David Goldman was employed. Not that it matters. I guess I just wondered about the fact that he had to make many many trips to Brazil over the past few years, and was just curious.

Many of these questions are answered at www.bringseanhome.org they have all worked very hard to help get the word out for not only Sean but all those suffering the same fate. He works seasonal jobs, he does fishing/boat guide for that season and is a realtor...so luckily he has jobs (he used to be a model when he met his wife) that will be conducive to being with his son and setting his own hours.

I know the website has taken donations from across the world to help offset his expenses...he has spent more than $350,000 in the past 5 years...I'm venturing to say with the publicity it has garnered this past year the news affiliates and magazines are fronting some of his expenses in exchange for priority interviews...

I was hoping they'd go to Disney, but now I really hope the paparazzi will LEAVE THEM ALONE!! It's not quite enjoyable if you have to be avoiding folks asking all kinds of questions...praying they have a safe trip and ride Splash Mountain till they're silly!! :)

what a wonderful place to start their reunion. I am so happy they are in Disneyworld and hope they get to ride all the rides and people/paparazi leave them alone to enjoy.

Very cool! I am so glad he's home with his dad.
We are here in Disney now, I haven't seen to much in the way of press around. Hopefully with the crowds they will get lost in the hustle and bustle and the press won't be able to find them.

I wish David could sue that family for all the legal fees he had to endure to get his abducted son back!

I remember reading that in the previous ruling (June 09) the judge ordered the Brazilian family to compensate David for all legal fees incurred, I think after the mother's death. The reason for that being that the step father is considered to be the second abductor, the first abductor being the mother, now deceased. Obviously, ruling it is one thing, enforcing it is completely another matter. I doubt David will get anything from them, but am sure he and Sean will be fine!

I am beyond thrilled for David and Sean, and hope that this paves the way for some much needed international laws and enforcing higher levels of protection for stolen children.

MSNBC was the one who invited & sponsored the jet to fly them back to the U.S. This way, they got some space & semi-private time together, (along withe the MSNBC people,) rather than be squished on a commercial jet Goldman had to pay for.

It's a fantastic idea taking Sean to WDW. It beats the two of them sitting uncomfortably alone in front of a tree at home, while Sean misses his grandmother & stepfather for Xmas. Building some wonderful, fun times to start with is great. :thumbsup2

As for the press hounding them, I don't think they will be allowed past the gates at WDW.

They showed a couple of pictures of him on the plane and he looked very happy. The NBC reporter who traveled with them said he was acting silly and laughing. Hope things continue to go well, though I know there will be an adjustment.

If they buy a park hopper, it won't be a problem. Park hopper and camera...any of us could be a member of the press.

My search isn't working, and I couldn't find the more current threads on this, but I wanted to just share the news with those who have followed this story.

You may know that in recent interviews and press conferences, David Goldman has revealed that Sean has not yet called him 'Dad'. David was pretty candid about how hurtful it was, but that he could be patient, loving and just be thrilled to have his boy back.

Well, from bringseanhome.org:
