I wouldn't be bothered by the fact, if the meat was used. They only harvest them for their skin.

They also ship male seal genitalia to asia. I'm not sure for what. I believe its viewed as an aphrodisiac. I'm not totally sure though.

They methods of killing are also incredibly cruel. They're clubbed or beaten to death. Sometiems they're shot, but they're shot from boats, so they're only wounded, not killed. then they're clubbed and usually skinned while they're still alive. I don't want to know how they harvest the *****. thats probably while they're alive too.

If it was more humane, I would support it.

It's disturbing. What really upsets me, though, is that seals that are just a few weeks old are killed unjustly. I'm not implying that clubbing an adult seal is fine. That's also malicious.

The method itself is just wrong. "Seals are normally clubbed to death. If still alive, once a seal is clubbed it is skinned alive." I do not view that as seal hunting. To me, it's seal torture. Those seals are being tortured to death, only for their fur.

If it was more humane (done with guns), was for meat, was done in moderation, and focused on adult seals and not the babies I wouldn't be as mad. Killing baby animals just seems more evil.

You can be perfectly healthy and eat human meat.

You just have to be mentally detached from the world around you to the point that meat=meat.

Jenny, who would want to turn into a cannibal. Cannibals become cannibals most of the time because they're in a desperate situation.

Back on topic, smacking seals over the head, skinning them alive, and cutting off and exporting their genitals... that's just brutal. And when you see how cute they are, that's all the worse. And no, I'm not saying that ugly animals deserve to be killed in this way. It would be bad no matter what the animal looked like.

I'm against killing animals for fur, it's wrong. If the animal is already dead, or is about to die, then sure, I'd say go ahead and skin them.
But clubbing is cruel.
