Ok seeing as we are landlocked in missouri, weve had plenty of quality steaks but seafood is not a stongpoint of the midwest, I have also read on the forums that florida isnt a great place for seafood since its warm water not cold water as pointed out by several northeastern posters but does excellent seafood exist near Disney, it doesnt have to be on property as we have a rental for our trip just looking for a good meal with fresh seafood.... any suggestions would help alot as this is a meal my wife is looking forward too and i dont want to blow it by taking her to the "Red Lobster" equivalent of Florida:D

Hi there,
I only eat vegetarian items and seafood. I've had great seafood meals at Yacthsman Steakhouse, Flying Fish, House of Blues, Cali Grill, Bistro de Paris, etc. None of these places specialize in seafood! I also think Fultons, Blue Zoo, and many others will have great seafood items!

Check out the menus, and even if a restaurant is not "known" for its seafood. it doesn't mean that there aren't a few great menu itmes to choose from!

On site try Flying Fish Cafe. Avoid Fulton's.

Off site try Moonfish, Roy's, Season's 52, Fishbones, all found on Sand Lake Rd. in the Dr. Phillips area.

Also, the Melting Pot has a nice seafood combination for one of their selections.

Cape May isn't bad if you just want shrimp, mussels and clams.

Avoid those seafood buffet places. They are really nasty.

Bluezoo was a disappointment, but it may have improved.

Emeril's is an excellent place for anything, and the seafood dish I had there was wonderful. It's located in City Walk, but there is another Emeril's, Touchchop in the Royal Pacific, at US too.

I agree, avoid Fulton's and any of the seafood buffets in town (and there are lots!) I have heard many good things about Flying Fish, but have yet to find a really good fresh seafood meal in Florida.

You'll find that most of the hotel table service restaurants have pretty good seafood entrees. Flying Fish on the Boardwalk and Portobello Yacht Club in DD also have nice seafood entrees.

Flying Fish serves excellent seafood. We have been to Fultons many times and the seafood has always been really good but the service can be really iffy. We've had great service and terrible service.

I would also recommend staying away from Fultons. As the others have suggested, Flying Fish, Blue Zoo, California, Grill Citrico's and Artist's Point all serve great fish. Sorry, I'm not familiar with off sight restaurants
