My husband came home today indicating that one of his customers told him about a Disney restaurant that had a great seafood buffet. It wasn't Cape May as she indicated that she and her husband didn't like the food there. He thought she told him this restaurant was at either the Swan or Dolphin but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have any idea what she could be talking about? Thanks.

:disrocks:

I saw this on allears.net and was thinking the same thing, you dont hear much talk of it on this board, well it is the Shades of Green Garden Gallery. The buffet says that it changes nightly, would love to hear what the the Disney Vets have to say, hope this helps.

Thank you all for your help. I'd love to try Shades of Green (especially after the Disunplugged was just talking about how nice the resort is and how interesting it is to get into the facility being that it is operated by the military - definitely a different Disney experience).

:thanks:

Well please make sure you come back and give us a review on everything,we would love to hear about the buffet.

Ok, I just checked the menus on AllEArsNet, and there is the "Garden Grove" at the Swan, and the "Garden Gallery" at Shades of Green.

Any idea which has better food? It seemed like the themes were similar.

Thank you for posting this!!! It looks fabulous and it just so happens that the Sunday of our trip is also my better half's b'day (he is a huge seafood fan, so much so that I expect to find his picture posted at aquariums ala "wanted" posters at the post office :lmao: ). He is opposed to any sort of fuss for his b'day but he may not be opposed to a parade of fish.

Wish I had an answer for you. I will be eating at SOG this fall for the first time. (My Mom's BF is retired USN)

I am replying for those that are not aware of SOG. Unless you are active/retired military, or work for the DOD (or are a guest of such) you cannot get into SOG. If you cannot get into SOG, there is no way you'll eat at Garden Gallery.

You should call about shades of green. If you aren't military you may not be able to dine there with out a ID card.

I was listening to the Disunplugged and they were just talking about SoG resort/restaurant, and said that the restaurant is open to the public. It was implied that you need to have a reservation to get through the gate.

By the way, back to my original post and the reply that it is the Garden Grove at the Swan (thanks Pirate Me pirate: ), I did a Google search for reviews of the restaurant and more people were unsatisfied than satisfied with it. For $29 a person (which doesn't include a beverage) and the bad reviews I read, we've decided against eating there. I would like to try SoG but it probably won't happen this trip.
