sea world or epcot

Hello how are you all doing. Please help me with your advice, will be going to disney world in a couple of weeks. Me and the wife still at this point as to go, to sea world or epoct, we have been to epoct, and love it. My wife never been to sea world, me i went awhile ago, it was ok, we both do not like real fast, shaking rides, Please give some advice or opions, will be going soon need some friendly comments, oh yes we are going to mgm, wife has nevere been there, i liked it. Thanks

Welcome to the DIS, SPH50! We're glad you found us and hopefully we can answer any and all of your questions!

Sea World and Epcot are two very different parks. If I could only choose one, I would have to choose Epcot. Much more to do, much more variety, great shopping, fantastic food, and none of the rides (except Body Wars) will shake you up. Test Track is fast, but fun fast.

On the other hand, if you find you prefer quiet days with sea life, Sea World does have a lot to recommend it. But given the choice of one, I'd have to pick Epcot, if for no other reason than the night-time showing of Illuminations.

well if you only have time for one I guess it depends on what you want to see the most. If you have time, you may want to consider both. We went to sea world and epcot both on our Christmas 2002 trip. We spent about 6 hrs at sea world and did just about everthing but the sea lion/seal show and the pets ahoy show. The Shamu show was wonderful. The dolphin show was good but not spectacular in my opinion after seeing Shamu. Feeding the dolphins and petting the sting rays were the other two highlights I thought.
At epcot in the sea building they now have two rescued manatee. At several times daily the crowds can watch the manatee eat, if the manatee will participate. When we were there they did not and the crowd left. we stayed and five minutes later they came to the surface and ate two large heads of lettuce - sea world had nothing to match this it was fabulous!
Also, Epcot has the world show case with so many great shows!
Another thing that you didn't mention but you may want to see if you get the opportunity is the Cirque De Soleil show at downtown disney - it is pricey but incredible!
Have a geat trip whichever you choose!

do both. Sea world can usually be easily done in 1/2-3/4 of a day. Epcot WS is usually open late. Also if you plan on going to AK you could also squeeze in a few hours at Epcot after AK closed, or if you're going during a slow time when MK closes early, hit Epcot after MK. Next trip I hope I convince the kids to skip Disney Quest and spend a day at Sea World again.

That's a tough decision. We have always done both and I would find it hard to miss one but, if I really had to make the choice, I think it would be Epcot for the variety.
