Sea World online ticket confusion!

I just posted a question regarding the special Passport discount on tickets that is posted on Member website, but just now as I was poking around the regular ticket page, I saw a few very confusing things:

Single Day Tickets

- 1 park ticket - Sea World Orlando 49.95
- Sea World on Your Schedule - 48.00

** they both qualify for extra admission days when you click on More Information details underneath. The On Your Schedule advertises it on that page, but you have to hit the link to see that the 1 park ticket qualifies as well **

I am confused. Why would people spend $2.00 more per ticket for the exact same ticket?

I do find that their website is very difficult to move around - errors, discrepancies, etc. What's the deal with these two tickets?

Basically you pay for a day and can come back until the end of 12/06 as much as you want.

This is a good option for us since we are coming in May and again in October.

Do you have to print out the ticket if you buy online or is it a code you then pin in when you get there...like for Universal?
I dont want to go through to it,as I dont have a printer!?

I think you still can have the option of having them send the ticket purchase to you if there is time before your trip. Might be an extra charge for the handling.

This is a good option for us since we are coming in May and again in October.

You are only eligable for the fun card if you pay full price for the ticket (i.e. dont use a Southwest Airlines promotion or Pepsi promotion or any other coupon or discount). If you do use a discount, you are eligible for converting the ticket into one that is good for 6 consecutive days according to the current promotion. That worked out well for us.

We upgraded our regular tickets to Fun cards a few years back and we are out of state residents. We traveled in March that year and came back in Sept. I see the price is the daily admission + $5.

I don't see anything on the site that says the Fun card is limited to FL residents.

Purchases are limited to credit card billing addresses with a Florida zip code. For the best value purchase a Fun Card or Passport for unlimited access – on your schedule.

it's always been like this since they premiered the fun card at Busch Gardens and Seaworld. the fun card is also only listed for sale under the florida residents section whereas the anytime tickets are only listed in the out of state ticket sections. if you bought them, you caught a break.

I quess I'm confused because when I click on Out of state visiters and then click on one of the choices for tickets, the next screen has a "click here to see the complete list of options" and the fun card comes up and there's no mention of only for FL residents.

I won't be purchasing until next Friday (pay day) and will try it. I will let you know if it works or not. If it doesn't, then I will know why.

In December 2005 I bought fun cards at Busch Gardens and they knew we were out of country residents. In fact, by the time we purchased the fun cards (mid-Dec) they had stopped selling the 2005 fun cards. I had an email with me stating that they would still be available for purchase at this time. Therefore, they sold us the 2006 Busch Gardens fun cards but activated them mid-December 2005. Obviously we will be visiting Busch Gardens again this year. Great deal for us.

I was also told on the phone several times prior to our vacation that the fun cards are no longer just for FL residents (for Busch gardens anyway).

if they'll sell them to you, it's a great deal. it doesn't surprise me with the total confusion the AB parks work under. I have friends that have Fun Cards, and had to produce FL ID's to purchase them (this year), just like the AP's at WDW. if you bought them over the website, you had to provide a FL mailing address.

that's the reason for the Fun Card and the Anytime program, it doesn't make any sense to have both. if they're selling Fun Cards to out of state visitors, jump on it. I'm just telling you how the promo's are advertised here. SW and BG's websites aren't the most comprehensive out there, there's confusing content all over, especially in the ticketing area.

That's how it's marketed, but not how it's enforced. I specifically asked this question last week and was told that the eligibility difference is whether you got a discount on your ticket or not. If you got a discount, you can either get the 6 day bonus program or pay back your discount and get the fun card.

Sea World has way too many discount programs and way too many ways to buy tickets.

I agree with that. the communication between the AB parks themselves and the public is strained, to say the least. if they're going to sell Fun Cards to anyone that's fine with me, it's a great deal. but to misrepresent them by making residents show ID is another matter. we've got the platinum passports, and it's easy. they take a payment from our checking account each month.
