We are heading to DL next week and we are taking a day to do Sea World through Grayline tours. That means we will only have about 7 hours in the park so I really want to be as efficient with our time as we can. I've been reading up on the shows and I've seen a lot of reviewers saying the Believe- orca show was pretty boring and that a lot of people wouldn't do it again.

So considering time restrictions, is it worth it? We are for sure seeing Sea Lions Live and Pets Rule though. I'd like to see Blue Horizons but its not on any of the June schedule.

Blue Horizons is open. It opened a week ago and I have already seen it. I just looked at the schedule, however, and it looks like Blue Horizons along with Cirque de la Mer, aren't starting on weekdays until later in June. They are playing during the weekends right now. Believe is, in my opinion, the weakest show, so yes, if you were going to skip one show, I would still see Sea Lions Live, Pets Rule!, and Blue Horizons. Since Blue Horizons won't be playing if you're going during the week next week though, then you should still try seeing Sea Lions Live, Pets Rule!, and Believe on the same day.

The only reason I would say to NOT skip Believe is because it is the orca show, which is the trademark of Sea World and pretty much one of the very few places in the world that have orca shows. I know you probably can't because of your tour schedule, but the Shamu Rocks show at night starts at 7:00 and is a superior show to Believe, but again I know you'll probably have to have left by then.

Yeah your right it is on the weekend schedules. I was only checking Thursdays since that is when we are going. We are going Thursday the 17th so it looks like Blue Horizon won't be playing. If we see all three shows do you think we would have enough time to enjoy the rest of the park? Being that we will have 4 days at DL we won't be too upset if we don't get to do any of the SW rides.

There are some rides for little kids, but nothing I've been on, and nothing that wouldn't rival anything in Bugsland at DCA. The grown-up rides at Sea World are not that great either, so don't feel bad if you don't get them in. Wild Artic is the same as Star Tours, you're just in a helicopter in the arctic instead of space. You also don't have to ride the WA ride - if you just want to see the exhibits, you can walk through the non-ride entrance. Shipwreck Rapids is like Grizzly River Run, and Journey to Atlantis is just a baby of a coaster...like 40 seconds long and then you end with a splash lol. If it's hot and you want to cool off, it's worth it if the line is short, but don't feel as though you missed something great if you can't make it. I know the first time I went on it with my sister, at the end we looked at each other and said "That's all?" and laughed that we'd waited in line for such a short ride! The shows are all about 30 minutes long, so if you have 7 hours at the park, that leaves you plenty of time to see the other animal exhibits and do some rides. Sea World San Diego is not very spread out, so everything is pretty close to everything else.

I agree with SonnyJane about the rides.

The Believe show is pretty boring and cheesy. I go to SeaWorld A LOT, and only bother to sit through that show once a year or so, LOL. I would recommend finding a video of the show on YouTube to see if you think it is worth your time.

I haven't seen the Blue Horizons show but I can't wait! The Cirque de la Mer show is really amazing and I highly recommend it, as is the Pets Rule! show. I brought my mom to that 2 years ago and she wants to go back to SeaWorld the next time she visits JUST to see the Pets Rule! show again!

Thanks guys you've been a big help. SonnyJane was blue horizons mind blowing enough for me to reschedule and go on that Friday? It'd be tough for me to give up a Friday at Disneyland since wednesday and Thursday are grad nights so it'll be one of my only full days at dl.

Well, I am a REALLY weird source. I used to train dolphins, and now I work at the San Diego Zoo as a bird trainer (Blue Horizons features dolphins and birds). I know a lot of the trainers that work on that show, which is the main reason I wanted to see it so badly. The show is still brand new and many of their animals are still "in training", so the show is not perfected yet and likely won't be even by the time you make your trip. There are still tons of mistakes and a lot of the animals are "on the bench" because they aren't quite ready. To a layman, it is probably more impressive than it is to a trainer, if that makes sense.

I highly suggest you look it up on YouTube and decide for yourself if it is something that you and your family would enjoy. It is a cool show because it features a wide variety of animals and costumed acrobats as well, but I've never dealt with Grad Nights at DL so I'm not sure how important it is that you get that full day in on Friday at DL.
