We are flying in on Dec 30th, was thinking to go to Sea World on the 31st. What can I expect for the day, I realize it will be busy, what would we get to see shows? What about the fireworks, do you pay extra for that? or would you recommend going on the 1st? it will be our 1st time there, and those are the only 2 days we have to chose from.

Bump, anyone been there on December 31st before??

It has been so many years since we went for NYE that it would not be anything like it is today.

The park is much more crowded than it used to be- all the time now.

Fireworks are with park admission. If you go it will be crowded but fun, till you try to leave after midnight! It might take an hour or more to get out of the parking lot and onto I-4 etc.

We like to go to theme parks on January 1st. Because of all the late night partying the parks don't start getting crowded till after 1 or so.
At Busch Gardens we have seen fireworks on the 1st, too. SW will have their usual fireworks on the 1st.

Last NYE @ SW was nice,we rotate NYE at a different park every year. The crowds are less than WDW,USO or BG.Shamu and Blue Horizens are packed 30-45 min before shows. The rides and other shows aren't very bad compared to the other parks.
Just as with any park visit during a holiday make ressies early and take a big helping of patience and tolerance.I would suggest a dinner show,Luau or Sharks as the CS places will be overflowing.

On December 31, you can get to the park, later, type 4 in the afternoon? To take advantage of the night.
This park is less crowded than Disney?
thanks

The park is open until 1:00am on New Year eve so there is a special new years eve celebration at night. You have a shamu rocks night show too that you can see. Shamu Rocks night shows are only performed during peak times of the year, so this is a good opertunity to see a show not everyone gets to see. When I went on New Years eve, there was a concert at night too. Im not sure if they will have that this year or not. But they have had one every year ive gone. The week youve chosen to visit florida is probably the bussiest week of the entire year, so no matter which day you go, its going to be super busy. The good thing though is if you go on the 31st, the park is open until 1am where on the 1st its probably open until 9 or 10. So you can get a few extra hours of riding Manta or something else cool.
