Hello All

Down here in Orlando local news is saying an announcement is coming today on the sale of Sea World . Rumors are claiming the Blackstone Group..

what does that mean? tickets which i already have booked online wil lstill be valid, won't they?
This sale should not affect any ticket sales made. I don't think there will be much change until sometime after the first of the year.

It won't affect much except the clysdales will probably leave and any remaining AB touches will be gone. There is still a topiary in the front of seaworld orlando that I was surprised to see.

I wonder if the new company will keep up the hero salute though.

The Orlando media jumped the gun again. Still just a rumor at this point as confirmed at the employee meeting.

Will be interesting to see how it all hashes out if it eventually happens.

Oh I think it's just a matter of time before the official announcement is made...hopefully by the end of the week.

I'm planning an impromptu trip down to Orlando (we live 4 hours away) for a day at Sea World this weekend. We were planning on using the Hero Salute tickets before my husband deploys next month. Do you think this sale announcement will affect my ability to buy those tickets at guest services this weekend? Now I'm nervous.

You should be absolutely fine. Even if a formal announcement had been made, it will take them a while to finalize the details. I think, the first of the year, as somebody else suggested, is probably realistic.

We are planning our first trip to SW in May 2010. Should I buy tickets now or wait and see if they have better deals with the new owners?

That's a tough call as this could go either way. Personally, I would be inclined to wait.

It's through the end of this year. If the new company doesn't want to continue it, that wouldn't happen until the first of the year because AB promised it's valid until this december.

The new company may keep it, would be great if they do but I just wonder if they will or not. I haven't heard one way or another if they will or won't. I mentioned it first so just wanted to clarify that. Have a great time.

NEW YORK (AP) — A media report says a private equity firm Blackstone Group is closing in on a deal to buy Anheuser-Busch InBev's theme parks such as SeaWorld and Busch Gardens.

The Wall Street Journal reports Friday — citing unnamed sources — that the firm is close to a deal to buy theme parks operated under Busch Entertainment Corp.

The report says the deal is valued at between $2.5 billion and $3 billion.

A spokesman for Anheuser-Busch InBev declined to comment.

A spokesman for New York-based Blackstone did not immediately return a request seeking comment.

Anheuser-Busch InBev has been shedding assets to help pay for the $52 billion deal last year to buy Anheuser-Busch, which created the world's largest brewer.

That actually sounds pretty promising. I was really worried that somebody would come in and just ruin the parks. I think additional investment, but essentially leaving the existing management team to run the park as they see fit is probably the best possible outcome.
