I just bought my bonine for our May 26 Wonder cruise and need to what you give your kids under 12yo. The box says not to give to children under 12.

Thanks!

Kim

My MD recommended bonine for my boys 6 and 9yrs. :earsgirl:

There is a chewable form of Dramamine available over the counter. The dose for a 2-5 YO would be 12.5-25mg every 6-8 hours (1/4 to 1/2 tablet every 6-8 hours), 6-12 YO would be 25-50mg every 6-8 hours (1/2 to 1 tablet every 6-8 hours). Most children this will cause drowsiness but some children actually have the opposite reaction. It's an orange flavor chewable tablet so not much of a problem to get kids to take it...works quickly too.

Hope that helps.

I bought Seabands (wristbands) in the child's size (which I could only find on their website..our local drugstore only had the adult size).

Thank you! I didn't know they made them for children.

We are getting ready to take our 5th Disney cruise, and I have ALWAYS given my 10 and 13 year old 1/2 a Bonine at night, before they go to bed. NO PROBLEMS so far. That way, if they do get "sleepy" from it, the majority of it is at night.

Good luck, and enjoy your cruise!

if you don't want to give meds, try green apples. our pediatrician recommended, along w/ bennadryl, and we gave green apples to our DS2, and he was fine. i had some too, cuz i was a bit naseaous (sp?), and was fine afterwards. good luck! :flower:
