SDV Orlando 2010, August 27 - 29

Has anyone joined the "SDV Premiere Membership" -- does that seem worthwhile to do? ($39.00 one year; $65.00 for two). Does anyone go to more than one of their events a year? This will be my first, so maybe I'll get addicted (there is another one in easy traveling distance for me, but I thought going to the one at the Contemporary would be extra fun).

I would join if I went to more then one a year. There was a lady at one SDV that said she went to every one!

Okay you guys got me in trouble today Cause I knew when ya'll were coming and that cheesed off a member of my team who thought I had some insider info on all incoming groups and I kept insisting it was just the scrappers

Yeah for me, I just booked my first SDV Orlando!!! I cannot tell you how excited I am to combine my 2 favorites hobbies! Any of you vetrans have any advice on what to bring? We are flying Southwest out of Logan which allows you to check 2 bags under 50lbs for free. We are planning to scrapbook during the day and go out at night-is this what most of you do? Any info on packing would be extremely helpful. Thanks, Patty

I just bought a nice bag at ACMoore for the trip- it's a rolling suitcase type bag- regular $150.00- used my 50% coupon- got it for $75. Can't beat that- plenty of pockets and storage- now I'll just be scared to check it- definitely to big for carry-on.

A little bit about myself, My name is Patty and I am from MA. I have been married to my dh for 23 yrs. I have 3 kids, ds 21, ds 18 and dd 15. I have been scrapbooking since 1998 but lately only seem to get things done at crops. I usually go to the SDV in Burlington, MA in July but this year we will be in Hawaii for my Ds (18) Make A Wish trip. You can probably guess what I will be scrapping in August! Well that's about it for me. I will let my friend Michele introduce herself once she signs in. She is brand new to scrapbooking, Disney and the wonderful world of it all. What about the ScrapbookExpo 2010???

classes vary. Last year there were classes on how to use your cricut, a photography lighting class, and some technique classes and page kits. There are no classes listed for any of the upcoming events yet, they usually come out 30 days before.

I am guessing you are talking about the Orlando Scrapbook Expo that is occurring on May 28-29th. I went last year and took a couple of SEI classes and bought things at the vendor faire. I am signed up for the all day crop on Friday this year as well as a couple of classes on Friday and Saturday.

Yes, that is the one! We are thinking about taking 2-3 classes and checking out the vendors. Not sure yet though....

You'd be surprised how much you can get done. Saturday we really get into a groove.

I LOVE that store but like you, I don't get there too often. I would love to meet up though. Like I said before, my friend is new to this so I am trying to show her the ropes. Do you ever do any of the crops there? I was thinking of checking out their schedule as we are looking to do something on a more regular basis. We should definitely try and get together. Disney cannot come soon enough!!!!

We'll be there for the AE Yard Sale later in May - maybe we'll see you there. Also, check out the thread on the Manchester CKC. That is next weekend (or you could just come for a day). A bunch of us DIS folks are going and it is scrappy paradise! Lots to see and buy!

OK I added 2 more people to breakfast and it bumped our time up by 5 minutes.
So 8:10 am breakfast. We'll still plan to meet outside Ohana around 8. I may try to get there a few minutes early to set up. I know the line can get long.

I'm now coming in Wednesday 8/25 but I'm leaving at the crack of dawn Sunday. I can't give up free flights for a few extra hours. Well I could but DH is not willing to! LOL

shirts: are we still doing blue and pink? Do we want one for Thursday and/or Sunday?
I'm going to do 2 designs for shirts. One with the date and one without.
