SDMT breaking down a lot?

I'm glad I found this thread because I've been wondering. We live in Orlando. Tried to ride on June 12th and it was down. (Never found out why.)

Tried again today (June 24) with FP+ and was told that it had been down all day. (They said that the doors weren't closing on the cars today.)

That makes me think it's down a lot.

My next FP+ is July 9th. Maybe the third time will be the charm?

There was an electrical fire in the control room. The ride is going to be down a couple days....at least.

Thanks for the info! A cm said to me that it was a "major problem" around 10:30 am and when I commented I was hoping it would be up for our 515 FP window she said she didn't think it would be out that long. Needless to say it never
Opened! :(

Guess we might not be riding Wednesday... Seems everytime we go (AP) it's down during our FP window or some of the day.

We were in MK for 3 days the second week in June and had a FP+ for 7DMT each day we were there. The 1st day it was down b/c of storms, we stayed in the park to wait out the storm for about 45 min since that's what DS wanted to do, but ended up leaving and going back to the resort and going to bed early (it stormed the rest of the day anyway). The second day it was down b/c of storms during our window, but we were able to ride after the storm, even though our FP+ had expired without any issue (they did take a picture of the back of our magic bands, but I don't know why). The 3rd day it was down most of the day b/c of mechanical issues. Our FP+ was converted to an anytime one for a certain selection of rides and we ended up using it on BTMRR even though 7DMT did start running at some point late in the evening.

We rode it about a dozen times last week and the issue that affected each and every ride was the sensor's on the gates at loading.

People lean on them like they do everywhere but they are not as firm (not exactly the term I'm looking for) and have a curved top. Just the opposite of just about everything else like BTMRR or RnRC. Steep gates flat top.

Everytime we rode they had to open each gate manually and tell the guests to step back. I'm guessing if there is a safety break that won't let the ride go if one of the gates reads "open".

The last two rides where a real stop and go and loaded very slowly.

We just came home from a 2 week trip. SDMT was down a lot, sometimes because of weather, but other times it was NOT weather related.

A few times it was down during our FP+ time, they definitely honor the FP+ still if it is down during your scheduled time. We had one around 3pm and didn't end up riding it until 7pm that evening.

During one of our FP+ SDMT was our 3rd FP+ of the day. All I did was go to a kiosk, they knew SDMT was down, so they gave me an "anytime" paper FP to use on any on any one ride, (which I saved for SDMT) and then I was able to pick another FP+ (my 4th)

On Sunday, we were there at opening, had a FP+ for SDMT for 10am-11am
SDMT did not open until a little after 10am that morning. We were able to get on it right around 10:15!

So I noticed it does go down A LOT, I am sure they are still working out the kinks.
