Just clarifying, we still have to use the kiosks to obtain SDFP using MBs with no ticket media, right? What about initial 3 versus 4th+, kiosks for both? I wasn't sure if the MDE FP+ changes had affected SDFP or not. Thanks

Still kiosks for initial 3 and beyond. It's due to being dependent upon the RFID rather than an entitlement.

So a kiosk is the only place you'll ever be able to get SDFP. And one day, you won't be able to get them anywhere! It's possible that the ability to get GLFP will last longer than SDFP - since there *is* ticket media associated with those profiles, even if it wasn't used for park entrance.

I have two questions. If I am purchasing a second set of MBs to link to a new MDE account...I'm assuming my 2 year old still won't need one...assuming he would still get in with us as he doesn't need a band regularly anyway.

Second question. We are going to DW from Dec. 29-Jan 7...will getting SDFP+ even be an option the week between Christmas and NYE even if we do rope drop every day?

Correct on question 1. He wouldn't need one for FPP at 2.

Question 2 would vary on the parks but there will always be some SDFP's available. For Epcot I wouldn't expect anything good but some things will always open as people change their plans. For MK, generally early in the morning you would still be able to get things like Barnstormer or Jungle Cruise or Dumbo. Not the top ones but also not worth waiting 45 minutes or whatever the lines will be then without a FPP! I would warn you though that during especially crowded times (Christmas week being one) that even FPP lines can be long - I remember waiting about 25 minutes for Pooh with a FPP but I'm also sure the regular line had to have been like 80 minutes at that point. In any case, I'd recommend grabbing what you could as soon as possible in the morning and then if nothing really worked for you (ie all you got was like Philharmagic for 10pm), just continuing to check during the day in case something opens up.

I have a couple times but usually it was for like 7 or 8pm when I grabbed it at 11:30am but that was when Soarin' was open as well. However, with the new Soarin' extra theater and the Frozen ride pulling away a lot of the attention from TT, I think in the future it may be easier. Right now I'd say it would be almost impossible since TT is the only good ride but in a month that may be totally different.

Thanks! I'm going next month in the midst of the craziness with new Soarin and FEE. I'm hoping I can grab a FEE FP+ tomorrow and cross my fingers for a SDFP for TT. Wasn't sure if it was feasible though.

Since you have a 2 year old and many potential future trips, you may consider tickets for that other MDE. I generally find SDFP availability is pretty poor except at MK. With tickets, you can pre-plan your fast passesand never use the entitlement. Might be worth the investment.

Disney passes may have expiration dates. Vouchers for annual passes purchased right now expire in 2030. So you have plenty of time - but it's not true that they never expire. When you're ready to purchase your tickets for future use (and GLFP!), ask specifically about the expiration date for redemption.

Now your getting it! You can linked the two accounts by "friending" the individuals to each other, so you can make FP+ reservations 60 days out.

So instead of just being able to make FP+ reservations at 30 days with a ticket linked we would be able to do the 60 days if the MDE accounts were friends?

Where can I find information on ticket expiration? Assuming I could add days to those later but would probably get 3 adult and 1 child 7 day ticket as that is what we normally do.

Right now our party is me, husband, DD9, and DS2

Sorry about the confusion. You would need 2 sets of tickets. If you knew that your were going again in the future, you could purchase those tickets now, link them to a new account, have tickets linked to both the new and old MDE. You would make 2 sets of FP's, but only use the ticket entitlement for one set of tickets, saving the other for your next trip. This is the idea behind generator linked Fast Passes (GLFP+)™.

My understanding is you need to do more than just friend them. I haven't tried it yet but you have to actually group them together when making the fast pass reservation.

Oh.. I thought if I bought a multi day ticket (from undercover tourist or a place like that) they expire 14 days after first use but there was no expiration until used?
