Oh.. I thought if I bought a multi day ticket (from undercover tourist or a place like that) they expire 14 days after first use but there was no expiration until used?

Expiration dates are creeping in - dates far in the future - but intended to accustom us to the idea! (And 2030 is a undeniably a generous expiration date.) So just keep an eye on it when making future pass purchases. "Non-expiring" is going away in all its forms ... eventually.

My understanding is you need to do more than just friend them. I haven't tried it yet but you have to actually group them together when making the fast pass reservation.

You have to have at least one resort guest in the group with the non-resort guests at the time of choosing advance FPs. Once the advance FPs are made, you can then change the resort guest's attraction choices so they're no long shared with the non-guests - and the FPs of the non-guests will remain as is - they won't poof or anything.

I purchased tickets from Undercover Tourist and have a room only reservation. I linked my tickets to my MDE account. Can I assign the magic bands a different name so I can use the ticket for the Advanced FP and then use the bands for SDFP?

Magic bands cannot be reassigned. However, you can link your ticket to a phantom name and use your magic band for SDFP.

That will work if the OP has another way to access his or her ticket. If redeeming a ticket voucher at guest relations, the OP shouldn't have a problem but would need to make sure the CM doesn't connect the ticket to the same profile that the MB is connected to.

I guess I assumed she had hard tickets in hand...

I know I have asked this before but for some reason I cannot grasp the concept here. When I walk up to a kiosk with my 5 phantom MB's for our entire party, which are already all linked together on the same MDE account, am I going to be able to swipe just one of the linked bands and proceed to make the same 3 selections for us all as a group, or am I going to have to swipe each one to "activate" and then make our FP's after that? If the later is true what is confusing me is that I am imagining swiping one and it brings me to a screen to make 3 selections for that one MB, if I then swipe band #2 and so on without making the selections for the first one I swiped, is the screen going to kick back and say "no stupid make a selection for this one before swiping another". I just want to know exactly what I am doing when I get to one and not look like I am struggling to figure it out.:confused3

:rotfl2:
No "No stupid" screen. There's a "pre-FP selection" screen for you to add every band you want to have in your group. Once you have everyone, there's a "next" button to proceed to FP selection.

I have the hard tickets that I have already put on my account so I can make my 60 day reservations. Should I go in and make phantom names for all of us on the linked tickets?

Haha okay well that is good to know then. :upsidedow

If you established phantom profiles on your MDE and transferred the tickets to the phantoms, you'd no longer be able to make FP at 60 days out - unless you leave a ticket linked to at least one person on the reservation. You could then umbrella the 60 day window from the resort guest to the phantom friends. You're thinking you would then use the MBs for the resort guests (other than the one you left ticketed) for SDFP? That would work except that you'd need to get (or borrow) an MB for SDFP for the resort guest. If this doesn't make sense, you may want to read through the original thread. It will answer most questions.

I read the thread, I guess I'm a little slow. It sounds like the easiest thing to do is buy phantom magic bands and put them on my account. Then the day of I could make the reservations from the phone app. Is that correct. I want to make the 60 day reservations.

If you have tickets and an onsite reservation, you can make 60 day FP reservations.

If you add purchased magic bands to phantoms on your account, you can make same day fast passes, but you still need to visit the Kiosks. Phone app is only available to change already made FP's, not make the initial ones.

I heard that if you just book one Tier 1 FP at Epcot or HS at your 60/30 day window and then after you use that Tier 1 FP you can book two more FP at another park from your MDE app?

Just want to confirm that previously reserved FPs can be used, even if the ticket holder hasn’t 'tapped' into the park?

Details: wife and kids are now leaving a day earlier than me. So one day of their tickets won’t be used. If I make FP reservations on their profiles, I’ll be able to use the FPs I’ve arranged for them, even if they don’t come into the park. I won't be able to get a 4th for them from the app, but I will be able to use the already reserved FP. Correct?

Thanks!
