If my friend has an AP, and we are connected through Friends and Family, and I am able to modify his fast passes, but do not have his band or card, can I book fast passes 30 days out under his profile, and then reassign his pre booked fast passes via the app to a non-ticketed phantom after I have made 3 SDFPs in the park on a kiosk as long as it is in the same park?

Or does this sound really crazy?

I know I can try to cancel the fast passes from the AP and pick them up day of via kiosk for the phantom, or try to swap SDFP via the app, but there is the possibility of losing them.
In my opinion, you do need to cancel and immediately pick it up for the phantom. I did this for one FP at a time and was successful at picking up the canceled FP for the phantom.

Probably an unrelated question but does anyone know likelihood of obtaining SDFP at MK around 2pm for 7DMT or Space.
We are on a tour and just wondering what are chances are in grabbing our FP after the tour. I'm guess they won't allow us to get them earlier since our tour starts prior to park opening.

I normally have a hard time getting 7DMT at 30 days unless I'm constantly watching for someone to drop it. The only way you'll get that is if someone happens to drop it right when you're looking. Best bet is to book anything and just constantly check on the app just in case it pops up and change. Space can go either way. What time does the park close that day? What time of year? If it's a low crowd time I'd guess you could probably get it for early evening. If a more crowded time, the only options may be like 11pm or none at all. I'll be getting to MK around 3 on Thursday and can check and let you know if it's available then (11pm closing but not a super crowded time of year right now).

Really interesting question. I haven't played with the new "Change Party" aspect of things enough to know. I've wondered that too. We have AP's and sometimes have someone coming to visit who hasn't purchased tickets yet. I book FPP's just under my and my husband's accounts 30 days out and have them use his but have wondered if I could change his to the guest's once they get the ticket. But I've been afraid to try since usually I'd only do this for things I really wanted and didn't want to lose like Test Track or 7 Dwarves. I'm going to MK on Thursday and have some extra FPP's to play with. If I have time I'll try to see if I can do that. Not a critical ride but something that would be "sold out" by that time - so if I'm there at 4 and have a FPP for Speedway at 5 I know I wouldn't be able to get it but could see if I could book a random SDFP for something else and then change my party members to that and if I lose it not be devastated. Sorry if I'm babbling - I'm trying to run it through in my mind. I'll let you know!

No worries... I try asking my family these questions and they look at me cross eyed! I appreciate you trying to work through it and attempting if you have time! I have played with the "modify party" and it does appear it will swap to the phantom, however it notices no ticket is linked and will not continue. My thinking is that maybe if the SDFP+ is present on the phantom band within the same park, it may circumvent the "no ticket" issue.

In my opinion, you do need to cancel and immediately pick it up for the phantom. I did this for one FP at a time and was successful at picking up the canceled FP for the phantom.

If all else fails, I will attempt to cancel and either book via kiosk or app. I will try to experiment my first day since the fast passes aren't anything special. My 2nd day has TSMM and my 4th has 7DMT. Do not want to lose them!!

Thanks! We go in 2 weeks and I think the park closes at midnight, but not sure we can hang that long. We are doing split trip with WDW and Tampa

I bought tickets from UT for our next year's trip. They are not assigned to us or in my MDE account. Can I use those for SDFP? Or will it "activate" the tickets somehow?

Why settle for SDFP+ when you can prebook FP with those tickets?. Set up phantoms on your MDE and assign the tickets to them, then prebook your second set of FP+. (We're calling those Generator Linked FP+ or GLFP+! Your UT tickets are FP generators.) Bring the UT tickets with you for FP entrance. Entering a FP does NOT take a day of admission off a ticket. Next year, you just reassign the unused tickets to the real people.

The UT tickets -- do they have the tiny circled Mickey head on the back - are the RFID? If not, then you would have to get MBs for the phantoms in order to access the GLFP+. That's because you need an RFID card or MB to enter the FP+ attraction. If the UT tickets are vouchers, they won't work at the FP+ tap points.

Update, my trustworthy friend reports he had no trouble with my 2013 RFID keys to the world cards at any kiosk in any park.
So I have 3 cards, and my wife's MB. She isnt going on this trip with my daughter and I in May.
That should mean 6 extra FP each on top of the three FP+
It looks like with that scenario we could get around tiering and be able to do TSMM on our FP+, RnR on the first set of SDFP, and Great Movie Ride on the third.
Pretty pumped!

HELP! Just realized a potential problem..... I have 2 kids not coming with me on my trip next week but I added them to room reservation to get magic bands (for SDFP). I just realized that one of my kids is under 3- does that mean I cant make fast passes with her band?? Wish I had thought of this before- probably too late to add a new one!
Thanks if anyone knows the answer....

Never mind my question!False alarm. I just logged into MDE to see if I could change the ages and it looks like I already thought of that when I added my baby originally (it says she is 5 on her profile....). Forgot!

I added an infant to my reservation to get a magic band. I have attached an AP voucher to that infant. Will I be able to book fast passes with that band?

Did the MDE quibble with you at all about adding a ticket for an infant (since infants don't need tickets)? Go in and try to make some FP for next week with that profile and see what happens. It should work, though I haven't tried it myself.

You can make SDFP+ with any band at all - doesn't matter if its an infant's band. Make sure you change her age back to under 3 for future room reservation purposes!

In that case, could you change the name on the phantom to your name, or part of your name so you could use it? I'm still new to all this, and I know I'm going to make some costly mistakes!

I have my phantoms as a variation of our current names. I have several non-expiring tickets linked to my MDE account to make extra fastpasses. I used our first and middle initials with our last names. Close enough to our real names that we can use the tickets with no problems later on.

The CM told me to make sure the name you use in MDE is similar to your real name in case you have a problem with a ticket.

Agree. I have one MDE associated with our first and last names, and another MDE with middle names and last names.

If the names are too similar, the real and phantom profiles could easily get merged at front desk check in or if you stop at guest services for something. The CM may not even tell you he/she is doing it - they're just trying to be helpful.

Since you won't be using the phantom tickets for admission, there can't be a problem with the tickets that would make you want the names to be similar to the real names. It's only the real profiles that should be recognizably the real names.

Middle names are a lot safer than initials. But again, you could also use your favorite Disney characters as the first names. Because you'll be reassigning those FP generator tickets to the real people before they're used for park admission.

MDE didn't give me any problems when I assigned the AP voucher.
I just tried to book some FP, and it looks like it worked for the infant.

I actually had this happen when I used nicknames instead of middle names. I attempted to link these MDE's as friends and some of the tickets were transferred from one profile to another since they were similar (i.e. Chuck and Charles). Not a major issue, but I am cautious about calling IT or otherwise associating these MDE's now.

I did this at first but thought it was too "fake", especially since I use this MDE for a hotel and dining reservations. I am not planning to reassign tickets, but alternate which MDE I use each year. I keep an active set of tickets in each, and use one for park admission, and one as a generator (i.e. GLFP+ :smooth:)

DH & DS aren't going on our June trip. They both have AP's. Can I use their bands to get extra FP's for DD & I? Or is it going to look funny when two females try to use two MB's with male names? Will the bands even work if they aren't scanned at the gate for entry?

If I can get the FP's, I can do it at 30 days, correct?

I haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if already explained.
