1/2. Correct. You can also bring your old ones in case one of your new ones breaks or you want to color coordinate with your outfits since they'll be exactly the same as your new ones in terms of how they function.
3. Correct
4. Correct (as of now)

You shouldn't have to do anything with creating a new MDE if those prior family bands are currently linked to your MDE and (as of today) should be able to modify them via the app (assuming again, whoever's bands they are has made it so you can view "all" of their plans - not just "shared" plans). If for some reason you can't do this (ie it's a more distant family member you wouldn't want to ask, etc.), you could still use them for SDFP and just make all changes on the kiosk (and snap a pic of them as you went). I have several cards I use that aren't linked to my MDE and since there are no longer any tickets linked to them, I can't add them. But I can still get SDFP and just change at the kiosk. If the bands you have were linked previously and not in your MDE, you can't link them to a new MDE anyway. That's more for people buying new, unlinked MB's.

I'd just keep reading in this subforum as people post if there are any changes.

Excellent...thank you so very much for the detailed repsonse. I will keep reading!

Another question. Last year when I visited WDW, I brought 4 paper tickets for family members with non expiring water park visits. They converted these to green plastic cards when we used them at TL. However, when I went to MDE these cards are not showing up/linked to any current family members on my new ressie. Does that mean I can create another MDE and use them for SDFP+? Or should I add them to my current MDE account with phantom names for SDFP+?

Thanks a lot. I love this stuff!

I'm pretty sure once a card/ticket is expired that you can no longer link it to a MDE. If anyone knows otherwise, please let us know! I have the exact same situation - a couple one day WP tickets my sons have bought for GF's that were just purchased at the ticket window and immediately used without ever being linked to a MDE. I am still able to use them for SDFP but cannot make changes on them anywhere but the kiosks (or see them on my MDE - I need to take a pic of the kiosk with my phone). However, I did not test this today with the new system to see if these still worked - I'll try the next time I'm at the park but not sure how soon that will be (at least a week from Monday that I know of).

There's no need to link the plastic cards to an MDE if you want to use them for SDFP. It's only new Magic Bands that have to be linked in order to use them at kiosks. Cards should be good to go for SDFP+.

But if they aren't linked to your MDE in any way then you can't view or change them anywhere but a kiosk. I don't think there's a way around this with WP tickets (at least used ones) if they weren't linked before use?

My WP tickets still have days left on them, non-expiring. Does that matter?

Yes, I'd like to link them so I can modify w/o the kiosk. Thank you

That's great. You should be able to link them to a phantom in your MDE. It's definitely better to be able to modify your SDFP, obviously. But it's not as though you must link a card in order to use it for SDFP the way you must link a band.

OK thank you. Not totally sure how this works with these WP cards, but when they issued them to me in place of my paper tickets I had to tell them who they were for in my family. I never registered them with MDE and they are not showing up there now. So, should I create another MDE for these WP cards because they are in the names of current family members, or can I just do the phantoms as you suggested?

What kind of tickets were these originally? Like from the old WPF&M that were non-expiry? I'm sorry I misinterpreted your original question - thought they were just one day ones you'd already used.

I would try to use with phantoms in your MDE so you don't have to keep logging in and out of different MDE accounts but I'm also not sure how it works adding a ticket to the account (especially one of those since they're fairly rare these days!) if it's partially used already. If you don't have success adding, at least you could still use it at the kiosk hopefully!

I received 2 new bands for annual passes that I got in December. Are my old ones good for anything?

Assuming it's the same MDE account then not as far as SDFP. They will work as "clones" - the exact same as the new ones you get so you have a spare or can color coordinate your outfits or whatever. But not to get additional FPP's.

Yes, the old paper WPF&M non-expiring. They made me trade them in for green cards last summer and said I have 1 day of Fun left on them.
I'll try the phantoming. Thanks again!

Thanks for all the updates. I am glad to hear this loophole is still working for now. I am going in July so will be interesting to see how long it continues to work. Just incase the loop hole is still working in July I am trying to decide what to do and need some help. Here is what I have.

I have already ordered our upcoming park tickets but have not linked them to my MDE account yet. I am trying to decide best way to do it. Here is what I have...

1. Old MBs and cards from previous trips linked to my current MDE account. I also have made on my upcoming dining reservations on this MDE account attached to old bands.
2. New cards received but not linked to any MDE account yet

So here is what I am thinking...tell me if this will work.

I will set up a new MDE account and link the new park tickets to that account and use that MDE for pre-booking our fast passes at 30 days out. We could buy new MBs for this new MDE account or will just use the cards. (no big deal either way)

As for the old MDE account I could use it to make SDFP with the old MBs and old cards once in the park. (assuming this loophole still works in July)

My only question is...If I have a BOG ADR on that old MDE account would it matter if my actual park tickets are not linked to the MDE account with the ADR? I know it will not matter for ADRs outside of parks but wasn't sure about in park ADRs.

Hope all this makes sense! Thanks!!!

I've never really checked out these threads discussing the loop hole. I would see SDFP+(with 3 fps) pop up here and there in other forums but never really took the time to delve into it. I'm curious, in the original thread was there any debate over the morality of this? I've only read the first post on how to do it.

The SDFP loophole is a valid topic of discussion on the DISboards.

This specific SDFP thread is the most current with updates from yesterday by @marciemi.

Your plan is perfect and all you have to do is tell the CM your name when you arrive at BoG. They do not need your MDE info to check you in.

That BOG ADR isn't for a time before the park is open? If it is, then you would need park tickets linked to the same people booked on the ADR. They'll want to tap those bands at the "early breakfast" entrance area to confirm both the ADR and your park ticket. If your ADR time is during normal park hours, it won't matter.

You won't need to buy new MBs - the park tickets themselves will work to tap you in for your park admission and your FP+. If you're buying Memory Maker, you'll have to tap the Mickey head under your photo, as the card won't be picked up by the RFID readers on the ride.

I will admit I was astounded that the original thread was allowed to stand as long as it was. For us "old-timers" the rules here used to be completely nothing that circumvented any Disney rules so this topic (along with the throwaway campsite, book & cancel Room Only rooms to get MB's) surprises me that discussion is allowed now. I remember back in 2000 we went to WDW right after the original Fastpass system was rolled out. I found that since we'd bought our tickets separately that I was able to use both our onsite room card and our tickets to get 2 FP's at a time (before they fixed this) and posted it. Immediately had it deleted and got a message telling me I'd be banned if I posted it (or anything similar) again. Only time I've gotten one of those warnings. :o

My personal opinion is that anything I know Disney is aware of as a "glitch" or "loophole" and doesn't close I'm okay with doing. Anything that causes them to lose money (ie the concept of booking a room, getting free MB's and then cancelling the room) I have a problem with. Taking something with a set value to me is stealing. Obviously everyone's moral code is different - many, many people here and on Lines have a problem with anyone using this FPP glitch; others have no problem booking 2 campsites, getting 20 free MB's and then cancelling. YMMV.

I didn't say it wasn't a valid topic, I was simply asking if anyone has discussed whether they thought it was morally acceptable in the "how to thread". Its a long thread and didn't want to go through it to see if it ever came up. Simply curious.

I just read a thread on another site that a group of 17 booked BOG ADR to gain access to MK early with only 4 members of their party actually eating at the restaurant.
