Ahhh thanks. Too late. Everything is linked in terms of original traveling party and original reservation. Screwed up on that one as I simply asked my travel agent to add the extra day for us. Looks like I will have to purchase new bands upon arrival @ WDW, and we are 23 days out. Thank you for responding!

Just a reminder that when you buy new bands, don't link them to your present My Disney Experience account or you will have the same issue.

Either create new accounts to link them to or buy the bands and say you will 'link it later'.

ND I'm sorry but all this time I thought that I could add other parties/names to my MDE account and link it to those individuals. Right now, in my MDE account, there are the 5 true family members and 5 phantoms. Are you saying that those phantoms should instead be on an entirely separate account where I should then link the MB's?

You are correct that you can link the new bands to phantoms in your MDE.

I just wanted to make sure you didn't link the new bands to the same profiles as your existing bands.

Great, and thanks for making sure that I didn't screw up a second time!

Does anyone have old magic bands or tickets I could use? I live in Canada and the shipping for anything on eBay is really high. It will be my sisters first trip and she has a terminal illness so I'm trying to make it as good as I can. I will pay for shipping. Please pm me thanks.
I just send you a personal message.

Can I book SDFP in one park for another? If I'm in Ak can I book MK at the AK KIOSK?

We were at Disney about 2 weeks ago and for 2 adults (presumably it shouldn't be too much different for you and your kiddo) with 3 sets of FPs (our advanced and two additional sets based on bands we got from relatives) to manage, it didn't prove to be too difficult honestly. The first day may have been a little rough since I had to get used to locating kiosks and in general, navigating the process of remembering to take pictures and which pictures corresponded to which set of bands. After the first day, and once you find a system that works for you - fortunately, the other bands we had were different colors so wasn't hard to remember which set was which, and then remembering the first picture taken is always for the "red" bands and second for the "blue" - it became a breeze and we actually manage to get Tier 1s like Soarin and Test Track more than once on a couple occasions AND after we hopped to Epcot in the afternoon (likewise with the Tier 1s at HS), but we went in with expectations in check, so it was a nice surprise. MK worked the best given the abundance of availability. Quite frankly, I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes for anything, including both FPs and standby, so it worked wonderfully.

Back to the original question, it wasn't difficult to manage more than two sets at all, again, once you find a system that works well. I actually found myself remembering my SDFPs more so than my advanced ones lol. And in the rare instances where we scanned the wrong band, CMs don't even bat an eye :)

Hope that helps.
it does very much! thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I think it gets overly complicated when you have kid swap and the party is splitting up and doing different things. for me + 1 child I should be able to handle it :)

Very much agree. For two people, it's fewer FPs in aggregate and fewer colors to have to manage :) if anything, it made the experience using SDFPs more enjoyable because while more bands means more to keep track of, the ability to literally walk on to so many things (Tier 1s included) made it very much worth any "hassle". It allowed us to tour the parks a lot more leisurely and have 'extra' time (does this exists at Disney? :) ) to enjoy more things overall. In our case, waiting for characters every so often didn't seem as bad because we never had to really wait for much otherwise. Now I feel spoiled!

In case this helps, one tip I came away with after the first two days was making advanced FPs for afternoon parks if you plan on hopping and using SDFPs for any RD days, particularly if you avoid parks with PM EMH. This coincides with what others have suggested where the park with PM EMH the prior night is always less busy the next day. Example: on a day where it was PM EMH at Epcot, we RD Epcot that morning and then took off to DHS midday (before going back to EP for EMH). SDFP was VERY limited that morning and throughout much of the day. I still managed a SDFP for Soarin after checking back at the Kiosks whenever we were close to one, but it wasn't nearly as easy as the following day. We were back in EP the next morning after AM EMH at DHS and by 11am or so, Test Track and Soarin FPs were still very much in abundance. Same thing happened to MK the morning following PM EMH. Similarly, getting additional Tier 1s for DHS on a non-EMH was also a breeze at RD. Got additional TSMM and RNR for later that morning and we took advantage of RD which allowed us to do multiple attractions so quickly and have time to even enjoy shows unexpectedly!

Not at a kiosk. you can only book for another park on the app.

When I was there 2 weeks ago you could see the SDFP with the app but could not make any changes (or book new ones).

In other words, all changes, additions or cancelation had to be done at a kiosk and a kiosk only offers fastpasses for the park it is located in.

I have question regarding MVMCP tickets. Myself and 3 family members are planning a December stay for 8 days. We have 7 day one-park-per-day tickets. This summer we purchased MVMCP tickets under our group's middle names for our 8th day. The phantoms are on my MDE. I have the actual cards in my possession. Since the phantoms are not listed on our reservation I was not able to make fastpasses for the party at 60 days out. I just reread the first page and was wondering if this would work:I reassign the party tickets to my actual family (our real names). I am then able to make fastpasses right now for the party because they will be assigned to the people who are listed on the hotel reservation. We use our magic bands to enter the party. Then since the cards were originally assigned to the phantoms I will still be able to use the cards in the park at a kiosk for SDFP. Will this work or will I risk somehow messing up our party tickets?

If you transfer the MVMCP entitlement to another profile, you should be able to use that card for SDFP. A word of caution- I have heard that for some, MVMCP fast passes have not opened until the 30 day window, even though they are staying onsite. My 60 day window opens Monday, so I'll find out soon.

Just so I'm crystal on this process, say I make a campsite reservation under my primary MDE. There are four family/friends going, including myself. So, I order 8 MBs, 4 of which will be assigned to people with MDE accounts, linked to park tickets and available to book FPs 60 days out, and 4 which will have no MDE account, no linked tickets and cannot make advance FPs. These extra 4 can then be used for SDFP? Or are they all linked to *MY* MDE?

All this business about a phantom account has confused my tiny brain.

Here's another question- for my extra SDFP for the family of 5, can I get away with keeping those 5 together in my bag, and just tapping x 5 on the tapstile when needed? I'd like to avoid having the kids wear 2 sets of MB's.

It's a little confusing because the distinction is between "your" MDE and "your" actual profile. So if ABCD are the actual people and EFGH are managed on your MDE by you (ie they don't have their own MDE but those MB's need to be linked somewhere to work at a kiosk), they're all on "your MDE" but their MB's aren't assigned to "you (the real people/ABCD)". So in that case if you have 4 profiles of real people and 4 of phantoms, you can use the 4 phantoms for SDFP. Just read my most recent post a page or so ago about how it works differently now at the kiosk if they're all on "your MDE". So when you tap those 4 MB's, it will probably show you all the FPP's for your "real" 4 people first and you'll have to scroll past those FPP's for the day and make sure the 4 phantoms are checked (only - and that you're not making changes for the original 4 people as well!) and then select from there.

You could and especially if with kids they're unlikely to say anything (in any case they don't really care). What I prefer to do is just hand them out as we approach the FPP line and collect them back up as soon as they scan and walk through. Hold them in the line just in case there's another second check (RnRC, Space, a few others) and then put them away for good.

Hello all! I'm wondering where are the closest FP Kiosks to park entrances? Also, if I have a PPO ADR, can I use the kiosks after I enter the park but before it officially opens?

It's not that 4 MBs will have MDE accounts and 4 won't. The phantom 4 will show up on your primary MDE account along with your own profile. It's just that they don't have their own individual MDE accounts. You're right that the 4 phantoms will have no tickets and no advance FPs. Note that when you tap them, you may see your primary FPs on the kiosk screen and have to look at the profiles and uncheck your own before proceeding. Maybe Marcie will get photos of those screens for us - hint, hint, Marcie?

I've not been seeing 60 day windows for Halloween or Christmas party for resort guests. You're better off getting advance FP at 30 days for the phantoms for the party day since your selections will be better than if you just used those cards for SDFP.
