SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

lol, I can just imagine them sitting around ticked at people who exploit the loophole saying "we'll show them" and then next scene is sitting around in stunned silence while IT furiously tries to get the system back up.

right. I don't disagree with Disney's right to shut down the loophole, but with their inclination to "punish" people who have been using it. They could have shut it down at any time and chose not to. Now boo on them. Shut it down and make it so it can't be used and people will stop trying to use it. Simple. But instead they would rather have the headache of angry guests having their entire account shut down while on a very expensive vacation. Well it seems like they got their headache... in spades.
I think they want to flush out the "companies" that were using this loophole for monetary gain.
 
Let's all take a deep breath. So many people get bent out of shape and start throwing all kinds of blind anger, when they really don't know what's actually happening. Sure, it's stinks MDE is down. I'm in my window too...and mine is really critical because I stay offsite, so I only have 30 days instead of 60+. But it's not the end of the world. Nobody else can make FP+ either. No, I can't check MDE every 30 seconds either, but I'll do the best I can.

I didn't see any blind anger. And its not true that nobody else can make FP+ either. I did! I called and sat on the phone and the CM made all of mine for me.
 
Well, I was just trying to adjust a couple of FP+ for my Aug trip and I can't access anything. I get as far as "Choose your FP party" and then I get the Olaf error message. Tried on Firefox, Chrome, and the MDE app, and no luck. So they could definitely be messing with something tonight.

Phew....

I'm at the 60 day mark and thought that I was flagged somehow for having two MDE accounts with passes and being locked out. In a way it's good to know it's system wide. Not so good though for my FP reservations.

you mean the ones reportedly making hundreds of SDFP first thing in the morning? I think just disabling it would have been enough, then you have an angry mob going after the "unofficial guides" who charged for something they could not deliver, not after Disney. Why would they want people to be angry at them? Seems a poorly thought out decision.

BTW congrats on your promotion to moderator! I was on a dis hiatus for a while, not sure when that happened!

so it's just the guest system that is down, internally everything is running. Should be all well at the parks and hopefully most people have backup info if they can't access is on the app but I'm sure the line for guest services is going to be MASSIVE if no one can see what they have for the day and that's the only way.

I think that's the only explanation in my mind why they would block accounts. I agree it'll be a headache for Guest Relations for sure.
Disney isn't making money from these "companies" that promise all the fp in a day so they crack down on them, hurting everyone else in the process.

yes, the biggest sin against Disney is making money off of them. I'm surprised they haven't figured out how to crack down on the merchandise resellers (though buying stuff on the app helps that I guess). I agree it is not cool to make money off these things. No one knows what the true numbers are but I'm not sure it even matters.... just the perception that it is happening is enough (like with disabled guides exploiting the old system for guests with disabilities to skip the lines... how many disabled guides could there have been? even one just looks SO bad though, they had to shut that down).

we'll see :) don't wish anything bad on Disney front line CMs, but if management feels some pain over this... I won't lie, not feeling super sympathetic.
 
We're here now. Just got a printout of fastpasses and ADR's from concierge desk at POR, and everything still appears to be there. I'm hopeful this means we'll be good to go with fast passes at the park, but unfortunately unable to make any changes via app right now.

Glad I stopped by the desk early, as a line was starting to form behind me, with eveyone saying the same thing!

exactly. Why haven't they cracked down on ebayers? because they are not losing any money, they are still selling their merchandise at their gain point (which I assume is a lot to begin with) so who cares who buys.

glad your day won't be impacted. I bet you can make changes at the kiosks in park, not as convenient as the app but not the end of the world either.
 
I can log in but my reservations, tickets and f&f are still not loading.

I saw one day of Fastpasses for a minute, but when I tried to go to another day, the site froze. It looks like everything is still there, but it's just not able to load. Hopefully it will clear soon!

Anyone going to try sdfp today? Or does mr guinea pig need to give it a go?

Mr. Guinea Pig is our hero :worship:
