SDFP: CHANGES COMING!! Beware the 7th of June?!

Myself, husband, and 4 children are going to Disney early September, our fast passes are made. My older 4 children, aren't going this time, they do however have annual passes. So I've been waiting for their 30 day window to open to make FP with their AP, for us to use for evening fast passes.. That 30 day window hasn't opened, however, on Sunday I was just playing around and when I added the 4 of them and myself to a fastpass party, it would remind me I already had fast passes and ask to remov me from the party, after that I was able to make fastpass for them for our trip dates, which are more than 30 days away. When I tried to make them fast passes without myself included, it would only give me dates 30 days out.

Has anyone encountered this?

I expected to to get an email canceling them, but haven't...

Yes, as long as someone on the reservation is initially included in the "grouping," those not on the reservation share the 60-day booking window.

I believe you are the first person to add and then remove yourself from the grouping and the "share" remained intact. Very cool! Thanks for reporting!! :-)

Search for the word "umbrella" on the first page of the thread. You can book up to 74 days before your trip for all ticketed profiles - whether they're on the reservation or not. Resort guests can be removed from the group, as you've found, and the FP for the non-resort guests will definitely remain.

Hi all,

I found these old room keys from an August 2013 stay. I think they are RFID enables (because of the Mickey logo), correct?

I just wanted to clarify, I cannot use these for SDFP because they are from a trip on my MDE account (the same MDE account we are using for our magicbands / for this trip). Is that right?

Thanks so much for any feedback,
Marina :-)

Did you compare the numbers on the back of these cards with the card numbers on your MDE? If they're there, they're clones - so no SDFP. If they're not there, then they're not clones - and you can use them for SDFP.

Karrie, it sounds like @MommyPoppins removed herself from the grouping prior to booking the FP - did it at the time of the Warning prompt. Interesting that booking for non-reservation guests continued. :)

Quick question that I thought you guys might know. If I drop a person from our package reservation, will they lose their FP+ that are already booked?

Hi ScrapYap,

I just looked on my MDE account. I see I have a 6-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper & No Expiration Options - and only my DH is listed (not the rest of us). There is no number listed at all by the ticket. Do you think these will work? Or only one since only DH is listed- for that non-expiring ticket?

That's been the case since the big system update. Definitely makes things a little easier.

Yes, after I clicked on the date and park it gave me the warning. I removed myself and it continued on to choose the attractions.

Look on the MagicBands and Cards page (not Reservations and Tickets). You'll see cards associated with each person below the MagicBands.

Thanks! I didn't notice that aspect of moving beyond Warnings worked for any guests!

Only guests with tickets of course. And only when first initially "accompanied" by a resort guest. If you only book one FP for the non-resort-guest, then try to go back and book a second for that same person, the system won't let you. Unless you also toggle a resort guest. Then you can again remove the resort guest before choosing.

If they don't have some other ticket media on their profile, they'll lose their FP+. The window for the FP "falling off" seems to vary. 24-36 hours? The system will send you a warning before they fall off.

Thanks I thought that would be the case.

Newbie here. My trip is within 30 days. Could I book a one night midweek throwaway resort reservation without tickets under a new MDE to get a second set of MBs to use for SDFPs? Would the 2nd MBs be mailed immediately so there would still be time to cancel without penalty? FWIW we still haven't received our 1st set of MBs. TIA.

Fyi, we were at WDW a week ago, with a split stay via different MDE accounts, which I put phantoms on, so we had several extra magic bands to play with. SDFP worked wonders. The only line of any kind I can remember waiting in for more than 5 minutes was FEA (25 minutes with a FP). I also had utilized PPO breakfasts & smart touring strategies, & crowds were unusually low, but still....SDFP helped a lot!

Thanks, I was looking in the wrong spot. They are all listed there. Thanks again

So you can't use that set of cards for SDFP.

But you could set up a new profile for your husband's new ticket and change the name of his profile with the old hopper. Then you could prebook "GLFP" on the six day hopper - probably six days worth of FP (even if there's only one day of admission left on the ticket). The thing is, it only gives you one set of extra FP - which doesn't do a family a whole lot of good. Still, it's an option.

We don't address that scenario on this thread as there is a separate throwaway room thread.
