I'm half way through my SCUBA class. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with it. I'm looking forward to going diving on PCC 3 & 4. I was wondering if anyone else is planning on diving on those cruises and if they'd like to be my dive buddy.

Hi Robin!
I don't recall doing a dive at Nassau before, but have done just about all the ports on PCC 4.0. Unfortunately, I'm not diving any more. Got a few medical issues that make that not a wise idea.

When you are on 4.0, be sure to do a dive in Grand Cayman. Wonderful, clear water and lots to see. Dives in Cozumel are a bit more rigorous because of the strong current.

Hope you find a dive buddy. Maybe Pete? :duck:

Jeff thanks for the advice... I've been told to avoid Cozumel for diving... So I may likely do that.
James I'm not going to perform dentistry on a shark for you.

I second the "dive in Grand Cayman" plan. The water is ridiculously beautiful.

Also wanted to mention that dives in GC (and Cozumel for that matter) may involve depths of 100' so be sure to go on for your Advanced Certification as well.

I'm a diver, but not going ton PCC 3.0 (so sad! Hopefully someday....), but Cozumel is actually a great place to dive. There are a ton of 100+ foot dives, but plenty of operators who know that only Advanced cert divers can go there, so they keep you to 60-70 feet frequently. Tons of diving around 40 feet too. I would bet that the big operators won't be taking a ton of cruise ship divers out to the Devil's Throat :) (I've gone diving there 3-4 times and have never done that one - and I I definitely never will!)

Anyways, the drift diving is actually great and easy for the most part. Very little swimming involved :)

Either way, enjoy!

My daughter and I will be on Pcc 4.0, planning on diving at GC, you are more than welcome to dive with us, we have done a few dives with a third person before.

Yes I am Skip - Master Scuba Diver level from PADI. But its been quite a while since I've dove. A couple of health issues make it inadvisable for me to be breathing compressed gasses at 100'.

Val is also certified.
