Scuba Diving on Castaway Cay

I recently read in the Magical Disney Cruise Guide that scuba diving is a possible shore excursion for the 7-day cruises, however I can't find any info on it anywhere else. Has anyone else heard of this or better yet done it? Thanks.

Perfect timing on your question. DCL used to offer SCUBA at Castaway Cay, but it isn't currently on their list of excursions. For our next cruise, we really want to dive at CC, so I have solicted interest from others that will be on our same cruise, and put a call into DCL's excursion desk yesterday to request scuba be added in again. We were told that they would bring the suggestion to their supervisors. I am hoping that they will add it in again if there is enough interest...so call in if you want to dive at Castaway Cay!

i wish i could have dove on CC on my recent cruise. That would have been wonderful. Maybe for the next cruise we go on i will have to put in a call

I have looked at this in the past and know they did it for a short time and then stopped.

What I am wondering, why did they stop? No interest? Poor reef conditions? No local boat?

Does anyone know?

Hey Jim - There are several possibilities, as you mentioned. Ken (kpros) had signed up for the scuba at CC in May last year, but DCL canceled the excursion last minute because there weren't enough people signed up for it. He doesn't know how many there were and we're just guessing about how many they would need to fill the boat. I am guessing that it would be more popular with those folks who have been to CC a few times and are looking for a "new view" of the island. Anyway, I'm hoping that lack of interest is the reason and that if we drum up enough interest, we can get them to bring it back!
