My son would like to dive at the Living Seas while we are there. Has anybody done this? How much does it cost? Can the rest of the family watch him?

I BELIEVE IN TAG FAIRIES. I REALLY, REALLY DO! CLAP, CLAP CLAP. STOMP, STOMP, STOMP. I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE I BELIEVE!

Since I don't know the answer to this question, I'm just going to bump this back to page one for you.

Check out Deb's Tour Descriptions and click on Aqua Seas and DIVEQUEST in the EPCOT column of "other tour reviews".

DIVEQUEST requires the participant to already be certified in Scuba. My son did this and we were able to watch from inside the Living Seas. In order to watch, we had to be inside EPCOT using an admission ticket for that day. The participant in DIVEQUEST does not need an admission ticket to do DIVEQUEST. We planned our day so that we would be in EPCOT in the afternoon and evening. There are many discounts available including NAUI and I think PADI and AAA. The best discount available when my son did DIVEQUEST was 15% using Disney Club.

Thanks! My son was certified to dive while he was stationed in Guantanamo Bay last year. He is working part time (whenever he can get in there) at a dive shop and the guys he works with are compiling a list of all the places they have dived. Nobody has listed Epcot yet, so he is very anxious to be the first on the list for that one.

What time do they dive? You said afternoon, but for some reason I was assuming it would be morning.

Thank you tag fairy! You are AWESOME!

My Dh has done this. The rate is $140, but depending on what type of dive certification card you have, you get a 10% discount, $126. I think disney club members get a 10% discount too.

I waited it the main aquairum area and got to see dh. They video the dive under water and they even got me and DH waving to each other (video available for about $35 ;))

DH said the dive was great, really really worth it. The whole program takes about 3 hrs. I think. They show them behind the scenes, go over rules, let them dive, show them the video. They had towel and shampoo lockers for them to use.

There are 2 times, either 4:30 and 5:30, or 5:30 and 6:30

Your DS will love it.

Some additional info: the only two things your son will need are his dive certification card and his bathing suit. He can bring his own mask or use one provided by WDW; no other equipment is allowed exept maybe a dive computer.

I remember seeing a post about whether a dive computer is allowed and I think the answer was no, but it may have been some dive masters allow it and some don't. If the computer will fit in a pocket of the BC, then I don't know if there would be a problem. The computer isn't needed for safety on this type of dive; however, the computer provides a log of the dive and some are interfaced with the PC which helps when recording and tracking dive history.

He should really enjoy the dive and getting the Living Seas on his dive shop's dive site list would be a bonus.

The dives are in the afternoon (AuntMinnie left off the "pm" on the times listed:eek: ) and the diver meets up with the dive master in front of guest relations just OUTSIDE the gates of EPCOT.
